OVERVIEW

The Superfuzz takes a classic '60s fuzz design and adds resonance and tone circuits to create an amazing new array of tones. Using the Resonance sub-harmonic booster control, you can dial in aggressive and focused bottom end. And, you can use the Attack control to vary the gain from rich and creamy to outrageous.

Unlike most fuzz pedals, Superfuzz has a unique Tone control with tons of range. In the center setting, you get a traditional fuzz tone. Or, turn it down for an extremely scooped mid sound. Crank it up and you've got a boosted midrange perfect for screaming your tubes! Guitar Player magazine says: "The Superfuzz flaunts tons of output and reacts well to picking dynamics . . . while making a little combo amp sound like it's pumping a big cabinet. Yeah!"

Classic '60s fuzz meets modern tone control!

I am now ordering one from MF because I bought one at a music store, and it worked fine, until the footswitch was "off". I found that it got "Satisfaction" all the way to "Spirit in the Sky" without any trouble at all. I was running it into a Laney VC-30 tube amp with humbucker-equipped guitar. I think it depends on what kind fo guitar you are using - I can't imagine saying that this is useless in front of a clean amp - not when I tried it. I just have to get one that doesn't lose all the volume when turned off. Also, Voodoo Labs was very helpful in trying to solve the problem, but I ended up taking it back.

Comments about Voodoo Lab Superfuzz Pedal:

For my first fuzz pedal I have been pleasantly surprised on the sounds this pedal can conjure up. However, I found the attach knob too sensitive. Setting this knob between say the 7:00 to 9:00 position results in a considerable amount of fuzz. I'm not able to notice big changes between say the 12:00 to 3:00 or 3:00 to full right position.

        Versatile Fuzz

        By

Comments about Voodoo Lab Superfuzz Pedal:

The Superfuzz has a very wide range of fuzz tones from thin to thick, warm to stinging, and plenty in between. Obviously, a humbucking guitar (Les Paul/335) will help get you the fuller tones, while a single coil (Strat)can help get you the more biting fuzz tones. Don't expect the really raspy "Spirit In the Sky" sounds, you'll need to spend ALOT more on a Tonebender type clone, but the Voodoo Lab Superfuzz can come close enough and can be used for alot more than one or two songs a gig.

        Superfuzz

Comments about Voodoo Lab Superfuzz Pedal:

Love all the tones in this pedal. Turn the resonance knob back for classic crazy fuzz tones, or turn it up for a tighter, more modern, rock sound. The attack knob is your gain, and there's TONS of gain in this pedal. Built tough with tons of tones.

        Voodoo labs Superfuzz

        By

Comments about Voodoo Lab Superfuzz Pedal:

I currently own a few distortion pedals, an old Tech 21 XXL ,a Fulltone GT-500 and numerous boost pedals but what I felt was lacking was a good fuzz pedal. Having used the EH Big Muff back in the early seventies I had a pretty good idea of what I was looking for but I wanted something with a little more control. Enter the Superfuzz. I finally had an opportunity to crank it up and wow was I surprised. Not only could get a nasty spitting fuzz but I could also get that elusive Reverend Billy G. tone and feel. I'd recommend this pedal to anyone in a heartbeat.

SUPERfuzz; a bit of an overstatement

        By

        from York, PA

Comments about Voodoo Lab Superfuzz Pedal:

I bought a fuzz pedal because I wanted something that really destroys your tone, like Stooges "No Fun" or even "Spirit in the sky". This is a good pedal, just not as FUZZY as I was searching for. I did not try one before ordering. I found other people online who had a hard time finding a new pedal that is extremely over-the-top fuzz tone, so I guess they are hard to come by.

        Fuzzed out

        By

Comments about Voodoo Lab Superfuzz Pedal:

This pedal is a key element to my tone, and I couldnt do w/out it! For chunkier riffs, I keep turn the resonance all the way up and the the tone knob at about 9-10 o'clock. For solos, I turn down the resonance to 10 o'clock and keep the tone knob straight up. This pedal does it all for me!

I am a tone chaser, I have searched high and low to find the perfect fuzz pedal dropping tons of cash on pedals that just ended up collecting dust. I am glad I gave this pedal a try the resonance control is the key to this effect! Go and grab one of these you won't regret it! I would not recommend this to a metal player cuz it won't give you that buzzsaw growl but it will give you a great blues/rock solo tone.......Do you like jimi?????

        Great Fuzz!

        By

        from Tomball, TX

Comments about Voodoo Lab Superfuzz Pedal:

I received the Voodoo Lab Superfuzz several weeks ago, and after plugging in and clicking on, I can't seem to hit the switch a second time to turn it off. The fuzz sound is just classic. It's not as big or expansive sounding as my Little Big Muff, and when you crank up the Attack knob, it doesn't have the same distorted madness. But it has this classic sound (think 'Had to Cry Today', by Blind Faith) when you keep the Attack about 10 o'clock. And it just gets creamier when you turn up the Attack. The tone knob boosts the mids when you turn it up, but I tend to leave it at about 12 o'clock, or maybe just a little more to the right. I always leave the Resonance knob down all the way, but I like the sort of 'thinner' (not in a bad way) and overdriven sound.Overall, this is a great fuzz pedal. Not the same as my Little Big Muff, just a totally different sound.
