OVERVIEW

A full-size guitar that's affordable with mahogany back and sides.

The Alvarez Regent Series is designed as an entry-level guitar that will keep new players focused and excited about their instrument from day one. They're classic-looking guitars that encompass many of the features and design elements that Alvarez high-end instruments have, like its bi-level bridge, and a rosewood bridge and fingerboard. The models are finished in a high gloss and come in either Sitka or rosewood outfits.

Usually lamented guitars sound very thin and have difficulty projecting, but the Alvarez Regent Series has had a lot of attention paid to good construction and components, and are very open and sweet sounding while maintaining a very affordable price.

Comments about Alvarez RD26 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

Guitar arrived undamaged but there was absolutely NO setup. Tuned it and ALL strings were touching the frets all along the length of the neck. The neck was straight so this was not a truss rod issue. Turns out that the bridge saddle was too short so I bought a new one in order to get the correct height of 3/32" at 12th fret. But then, turns out the 12 fret was loose and not set completely into the fretboard! These are the kind of thing that even a minimal degree of quality inspection should have caught, at either the Alvarez factory or at MF.

I emailed MF and got this response: "This particular guitar is not one of our Private Reserve so it should have been shipped with the set up of the manufacturer. Then also due to climate and humidity changes through delivery it can cause the woods to shift. It could be just as simple as a truss rod adjustment. My best recommendation would be to take it to an authorized Alvarez technician to have it correctly set up, unless you have the experience yourself. Still would be better to go to an certified guitar luthier."

So, basically, you buy, your problem, you pay to fix it. Not the response I expected from MF.

Comments about Alvarez RD26 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

My son was very happy with the guitar. However, I was disappointed that a pic was not included in this purchase. I wish that would have been noted so I could've purchased them.
