    Unleash the fury!

The Fender Yngwie Malmsteen Stratocaster has been updated to be more like his current number-one Fender! Updates include a White /Black/White pickguard, bullet truss rod nut and machine screw neck mounting! This neck mounting method provides a better connection and overall tone transfer to the guitar body.

Like the original Yngwie Strat, this amazing axe features a solid alder body, modern "C" shape maple neck, and Yngwie's signature scalloped maple fretboard with Dunlop 6000 Super-Jumbo frets for a playing experience as fast as you are!

The pickups are all Yngwie tone, too! All three pickups are Seymour Duncan YJM Fury . Switch pickups with a 3-position blade and make it wail with the American Vintage Synchronized Tremolo bridge. The brass nut provides a bright sound you can't get any other way. Made in Fender's Corona, California factory.

I have the 2008 (Sonic-Blue) version. I think it's the last model with "Dimarzio's" (YJM-neck & middle) & a (HMS-3 bridge) I think. Anyway,... I love this guitar!! I don't know if the "value" will go down if I put in the new Duncan (YJM Fury's),.. I'd like to know. Keep it original? Or, "up-date" it? It's a tricky guitar to play. (pull-off's) on the high-E, I tend to pull the string off the fret, That makes me think: a. they (the factory) filed to much fret when finishing the neck, or,... b. I'm just to used to playing a guitar with a regular neck, and the fret's are fine!! Either way,.. the guitar is very cool, loud, my action is incredibal!! I use 9's, but 8's,... Ehhh that's a tuffy, 8's seem to be my most favored. Yeah a little thin,.. but with low action it's a little more easyer to play, and "chord." Just don't grip so tight, relax your left hand,.... and, Away you go!!! Hope this helped.

I currently play a Highway One strat with the Dimarzio YJM's and HS3 pickups. Love the tone and playability of this guitar so I picked up an Yngwie strat to have the real thing. This is a very cool guitar but I could not get used to the scalloped neck and the frets are HUGE! I found myself going back to my Highway One and feeling so much more comfortable on a regular fingerboard. In addition, the alignment of the strings over the fingerboard were misaligned to the high E string so it slipped off the edge of the fingerboard when using just minor vibrato. This guitar also had a very noticable blemish beneath the finish near the trem. I ended up sending it back. Too wierd switching between scalloped and regular fingerboards and I expected better craftsmanship for an American made guitar at this price. Im sticking with the Highway One strat with the Yngwie Dimarzio pickups...same tone and a much better play.

Comments about Fender Artist Series Yngwie Malmsteen Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar because I wanted a scalloped neck guitar. I am an Ibanez man but I thought I would go with something totally different. The scalloped fretboard, 9.5 neck radius, and single coil pickups surely make this different from my usual. I can only say good things about this guitar. It has a great tone, either clean or distorted. I have read where some think the pickups are not hot enough. The only thing I can respond to this is, do you want to hear great articulate sound, or just a bunch of distorted noise. These pickups sound plenty hot for most musical tastes. I had no problem playing the scalloped fretboard. It most certainly makes bends, vibrato, and pulloffs easier with a lighter touch. If this guitar has any downside, tapping is the most noticable. However, with a little practice on this neck I can tap as usual. I bought the model with a maple fretboard because all of my other guitars are rosewood. This is a beautiful neck. I received this guitar without any flaws or blemishes. I find this guitar a joy to play and recommend it to anyone who can afford one.

          One of the best strats

Comments about Fender Artist Series Yngwie Malmsteen Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

I only play strats. I bought this guitar used because I wanted to try the scalloped fretboard and the DiMarzio pickups. I have had it for about 6 months now. At first, I didn't like it. I didn't like the feel of the scalloped fretboard, and the jumbo frets gave a different "ring" vs. the smaller frets I was used to. Tremolo usage caused the guitar to go out of tune. The action could not be lowered to the way I liked it while not "frettin-out" and buzzing with extreme string bends (I like playing hendrix). I was very upset. You may be wondering why I gave it such high marks. The rest of the story goes like this: I threw on some Dean Markeley Malmsteen strings (9-42), put some vaseline under the bridge contact points, put some pencil lead in the nut, adjusted the action so that it did not buzz or "fret-out".This guitar now sounds AMAZING. The neck pickup has that strat "punch" when doing a string bend. the pickups sound sweet (although somewhat low output). The frets still make the "ring" sound weird, but its not a bad sound. The guitar stays in tune perfectly with trem usage. The guitar is made of very high quality materials, in particular the maple neck looks very high quality. The tuners are amazing, they get somewhat "locked in"; you can feel them get stuck once you reach the right frequency in the strings. I believe this guitar will hold value very well, and my grandchildren will be playing this at some point. Great investment, great sound, great guitar, beautiful color, great craftsmanship. I hope fender discontinues these so the value goes up in my guitar!

          Super-STRAT!!

Comments about Fender Artist Series Yngwie Malmsteen Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

Very nice Fender super-Stratocaster!! Quality of this Fender guitar is more than apparent. I really like the pickups and they are perfect for metal and suited also to various other genres. Some people claim the pickups are weak. I say.... get a good overdrive/distortion pedal and hold on! Malmsteen uses the exact same DiMarzio pickups in his guitars and has done so for over 20 years. The guitar I received is light (barley 7 pounds) and the action super low, smooth and fast. Great sustain. The rosewood fretboard on mine is perfect and the jumbo frets cut and filed perfectly. Neck feels like a beefy C-shape. Comes with a 3 way switch ? sort of lame but a 5 way is easy enough to install and cheap too. After a set-up with a tech this guitar was simply incredible. I play mostly heard rock, progressive jazz/rock and metal and this electric and my old ESP are all I need for a night of heavy gigging. Item came with a nice vintage style tweed case and some other goodies too. Overall a great buy and a very awesome USA made Fender Stratocaster.

Comments about Fender Artist Series Yngwie Malmsteen Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

I saw Joe Stump play this week. I sat 10 feet away from where he was standing. Among his guitars was one similar to this one but made by the ESP custom shop. Check out his guitar page online! I think that with all the string bending that is typical of this music style, why would Fender not have steel frets? Otherwise you could find yourself refretting or changing necks before long.I also agree with the other reviewer, nothing but the best pick ups will do. So if these are week, they must not be what YM is using.

          Yngwie Strat not for Metal

Comments about Fender Artist Series Yngwie Malmsteen Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

As many other reviewers have pointed out, the pickups on the Yngwie are surprisingly weak. When I received the guitar the setup was horrible. It?s hard to believe Fender would ship a guitar in unplayable condition. That said, once everything was properly adjusted it turned out to be a blues monster. It sounds like a Strat, what else is there to say. Also, you can do 4 note bends with ease due to the scalloped neck. The one feature that would be nice would be a 5 way switch, but that can be had for under $25. Blues, jazz, rock, maybe hard rock, but definitely not a metal guitar. If you play metal buy a Les Paul. Overall, other that the scalloped frets it?s nothing special, but I love Strat?s for blues, and even though it?s a little pricey it?s a keeper.

this is a historical axe that will be around for the next 50 years. congratulations to Fender for another invented marvel. The sound is extremely tight and the action great. I like the whole package. But I'll stick with the orignal YJMs on it with the HS 3 in the bridge. Scalloped frets? Good. Very good. So apeggiate, sweep, legato, tocatta, hammer on and do what you need. This guitar is the thing. In fact I beleive it even scares Frankenstein.

Comments about Fender Artist Series Yngwie Malmsteen Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

I have only been playing the guitar for about a year but i've gone through about six guitars. after I got this one it blew me away! i dont know what does it but the sound quality is amazing, and some people say the scalloped frets are harder to play on but when I played on it I actually played better and faster because with scalloped frets you barely have to touch them to hit the notes so i think its easier to play on!
