This guitar sounds better that some American-made Fenders I have, and has the action and smooth neck and frets of my Martin! Awesome deal for the money!

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G5024E Rancher Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I went into a local shop to buy strings about 2 years ago. I walked out with this guitar. It had #12 strings and I was blown away by how a guitar of this price range could look, sound and play so well. Has great warm mids, produces a great full dreadnaught sound- and a low, comfortable action that felt similar to wider fretted electrics. I am not a professional musician but I have logged in about 100 shows since its purchase, and I play it about 3-5 times a week at home. It has become my primary guitar. I also own one of the less expensive Martin models, that I don't even play it anymore. The Fisheman under the saddle pick up sounds great and its eq is very reasonable. Things that I have noticed over my course of ownership-
Finish and inlays hold up very well
Stock saddle and pins are not the greatest of quality but hold up well, they just show lots of dirt and grime
in guitar tuner is fine for practicing, but I use a better one for shows and recording
Doesn't do well out of its case. I made the mistake of letting it get hit by some temp. and humidity variations- needed a set up. I also let it sit in a stand for a while, and also needed another set up. Put it back in its case after playing- and you are fine.
I am convinced that if you enjoy the tone it produces, you can not find a better guitar for the price. I know everyone is different in the tone they are chasing and everything is relative. I don't play cut aways and I don't play light strings- this is just my preference. If you like high end Taylors but can't afford them, this probably isn't your guitar. But if you want a Hummingbird and can't afford it, this is your guitar.

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G5024E Rancher Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I am learning to play the guitar at age 60 and have tried my limited skills on dozens of guitars in the 300-600 price range. Nothing compares to the sound, finish quality and consistency of this Gretsch. Every time I check the tuning, it is perfect for days on end. It sounds great unplugged and even better plugged into my Fishman acoustic amp. I love this guitar.

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G5024E Rancher Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

There are a great number of guitars in this price range, but few play as well. Bought one for a student and liked it so much, I kept it and got them another.
