Ibanez

Big archtop tone for little bucks.

The Ibanez Artcore AF75 Electric Guitar has a fully bound, all-maple hollow body that provides tight resonance without feedback. The Ibanez AF75 is a true full-hollowbody guitar (no soundblock) perfect for that muted jazz tone and fully flexible for everything from alt rock to pounding punk. Mahogany set neck with bound rosewood fretboard and pearl block inlay is a delight to the digits. ACH1 humbucker at the neck and ACH2 at the bridge provide a beefy, quiet signal with pronounced mids.

Check the drop-down menu to the right to select colors and/or other options.

Features

  • Full-hollow body
  • Maple top, sides, and back
  • Mahogany set neck
  • Bound rosewood fretboard

One of the most comfortable electrics I've played

Quality:

The guitar's constructed very well. Ibanez seems to put a lot of pride in their the necks of their guitars, and this one's no different. Comfort the entire time playing, and the guitar hardly feels as big as it is. A wonderful feeling guitar from one end to another, the only issues I've ever had were intonation issues, but as it wasn't my guitar I couldn't really find a reason for it.

Value:

The first time I saw my teacher pull out this guitar, I automatically assumed it was a pretty expensive one. Has the looks of one--all the class of a very expensive jazzbox at a fraction of the price. Best part about it is that it's much more than looks--plays as well as an expensive jazzbox too.

Overall:

My experience through this guitar came through my music teacher at school. I used his for our performances because I didn't have an electric of my own, and I can easily say I played it anywhere from one to four hours on a daily basis. At no point did I feel uncomfortable with it, nor did I feel as if I was restrained in terms of what I could play. It could handle anything that our productions threw at it, and it was an absolute pleasure to play. My only issue with it was difficulty in terms of fret access, but that's an issue that you're going to run into with just about any full hollowbody. But the quality of this Ibanez ensured that they wouldn't fail to produce an equally impressive semihollow with all the fret access I desire. Overall this guitar's an absolute beauty, a steal for the price, and a pleasure for both the experienced and inexperienced to play for a long, long time.

Great Guitar w/great sound

Features:

What an amazing buy.  I have owned this guitar for about two years and I love playing it. Great tone and playability, though it does have a tendency to go out of tune, but I always retune every time I play any of my guitars, so that's no biggie.  I have this in the trans red finish and people always comment on what a beautiful guitar this is.

Quality:

Great quality as I've always expected from Ibanez.

Value:

You can't beat this guitar for the money.

Overall:

Overall, I'd recommend this guitar to anyone that wants a nice guitar at a very reasonable price. Featured, quality, finish... all great.

Overall:
I bought this Ibanez Artcore AF75 guitar about 3 years ago because my friend owned one, he bought a couples of years earlier, that was really well-made, sounded sweet, and played beautifully with a smooth fast neck.  So I ordered one online.  When I recieved and played mine, I was very very disappointed.  It wasn't anything like the one my friend had.  The neck did not feel smooth as the frets on this guitar were all sharp at the edge and needed to be sanded down.  There were many buzzing spots.  The pickup and pots were not right either.  After I changed the strings, adjusted the bridge, it still had many buzz spots, and fret board is uneven beyond the 14th fret on.  The electronic components on this guitar were rather shabby too. ( I don't think one of the tone control pots ever worked.)  I should have returned it then, but I kept it with the hope to fix it up a little. Then about a week ago, I took it out of my case, and noticed that the machine head for the G-string were broken off.  This has never happened to any of my guitars (Gibsons, Fenders, and other Ibanez) that I've owned before.  Again, I was appalled to see how lousy of a quality this particular piece was made with.  Along with the machined,  I shoud change the pickups and have the neck adjusted now that I want to get back into playing an electric guitar again, but am still debading about buying a different guitar instead of fixing this one...

This was actually the first electric guitar I purchased. I got the blue color which was beautiful...

Between my mid-light D'Addario's and the neck the guitar is singularly the easiest playing neck I have ever touched, comparable to my Gibson LP... so it is probably great for people learning to play.     Unfortunately, I don't know if the bridge is cheap or the neck has bent but after about half a year, it kind of died on me; I have tried tinkering but I can't get it to stay in tune and is practically unplayable. its just kind of sitting in storage in its case and I'd feel bad giving it away...

I have hence expanded my arsenal, but looking back, the money could probably have been better allocated towards something with a better lifespan...
