OVERVIEW

An affordable version of an iconic guitar.

Inspired by the popularity of George Benson’s GB10 signature model, the GB10SE exemplifies Ibanez expertise in creating high-quality, affordable signature instruments capable of meeting the artists exacting demands. As part of the highly regarded Artstar Series, GB10SE retains many of the same features and appointments of its posh predecessor, at a price accessible for the working musician.

The GB10SE’s comfortably sized, narrower, hollowbody features a spruce top with maple back and sides, augmented with a strong, smooth GB 3-piece maple set-in neck. It also features an ebony bridge and the same eye-catching GB10 tailpiece as its more expensive sibling. A special design half-bone/half-brass nut creates a warm natural tone while enhancing sustain.

The Ibanez Sure Grip III control knobs insure precise, no-slip control over volume and tone. Designed for smooth sound and moderate output, two GB Special mini-humbuckers are mounted to the pickguard, suspending them above the guitar’s Spruce top. This prevents feedback at higher volume while retaining a warm, creamy tone.

Spanning over three decades, George Benson and Ibanez have one of the most enduring relationships ever between a guitar maker and guitar legend. The GB10SE includes a hardshell case.

Comments about Ibanez GB Series GB10SE George Benson Signature Hollow Body Electric Guitar:

Awesome instrument. I've only owned it for a couple of weeks so far, but I'm very impressed by both the craftsmanship of the guitar as well as how it sounds. The notes are both bright and warm coming through the amp, they really leap out at you. Crystal clear sound. Unplugged it also sounds good, could be nice for smaller venues or just for practicing. But to really hear the guitar shine a good amp is necessary.

Comments about Ibanez GB Series GB10SE George Benson Signature Hollow Body Electric Guitar:

Chinese factory quality issue with truss rod assembly. Could be aggravated by design issues with tight access and interference with wood on the pocket. I wonder if "made in Japan" model free of this issue. I received two and returned both- waiting refund. I loved the guitar otherwise but a bad truss rod design/adjusment issue is a showstopper.

Comments about Ibanez GB Series GB10SE George Benson Signature Hollow Body Electric Guitar:

This guitar is as good as the GB10. No way I pay 3 gs for the GB10. I have played gibsons that are 'way' more expensive than this unit. Gibson doesn't have anything that can touch this guitar @ the price range. I like it so well that I bought the LGB30. Same comments on that one as well. If you are a Jazz guy, this guitar is what you need. The only bad thing is 'who's idea was it not to put the strap holder on the neck"?

You have to do it yourself. Don't understand how you can go this far with a great instrument and not go ahead and put the strap holder on...Other than that, this guitar is the way to go..

Comments about Ibanez GB Series GB10SE George Benson Signature Hollow Body Electric Guitar:

This is a really well crafted guitar and it came set-up perfectly. I use mostly the front pick up and find that the clarity in outstanding - every note jumps out. I play both with a pick and finger style, as well as in octaves with my thumb and it does the trick for every style. I haven't played the Japanese GB10 so I can't speak to any comparison between the models, but this guitar is great and easy on the eyes as well. The case is good also. I plan on trying a slightly heaver flat wound set of strings soon, probably the Thomastic Benson mediums, but the D'Addario strings it comes with sound really fine. I think this GB10 SE is a a lot of bang for your buck.

Comments about Ibanez GB Series GB10SE George Benson Signature Hollow Body Electric Guitar:

Great instrument. I have many archtop guitars and I really enjoy playing this one. I have had Japanese Ibanez GB10 Benson guitars in the past and the SE model is far less expensive and feels and sounds very similar. The tone is rich and bright. The neck feel very comfortable and the fret work/intonation was perfect out of the box.
