The body is small, more like an electric guitar size, yet fully hollow and deep enough to get a good acoustic sound. Features a spruce top, mahogany back and sides, and die-cast tuners. For electronics, it has a piezo pickup with 2-band EQ.

This is an absolutely amazing guitar for the money! I tried a number of thinline and standard body A/E guitars and this one won by a longshot for the price. I thought it blew away the Fender Stratacoustic and Telecoustic thinlines that sell for 50% more. I had to get up into five-hundred dollar range to find comparable guitars, so this was a no brainer. It has a very fast neck, the body is a very cool and unusual shape and it's easy to hold and play while seated. The unplugged sound is a little thin, but most thinbodies areby design. The plugged in sound of this guitar is incredible! I doubted the very stripped Ibanez pickup and preamp that has only a bass and treble slider, but it does the job unless you're REALLY picky. For the money, I'm not that picky at all! It has a rich, full, absolutely incredible amplified sound. I use piezio pickups on my upright bass and they sound great. The piezio element in this guitar is simple, but it simply sounds phenominal. The construction is supurb. Internally, the bracing is perfect and there are no jagged edges, splinters or misaligned parts. The blueburst finish is stunning. The tuners are dead on. The stock strings are pretty bad. I put on some Elixir 11's and it just started to SING. This is basically a $500 guitar for only $$$. GET ONE NOW!!!

My mom bought this guitar years ago. She bought it to learn to play guitar on, but she never did. About a year and a half ago I decied to learn the guitar. So this was my first guitar. For being so cheap, the fit and finish is pretty solid. The paint has held up well, with just some minor swirly schratches from playing. The neck is small and fast for an acoustic, but the action on mine is bad. Very high, almost unforgivable. I put some electric strings on it and that hurt its sound some, but it made it play a little better. It sounds pretty good, not very loud though because it is so small. It holds its tune decently too. Not a bad guitar.

I was a bit sketchy as to whether this guitar was going to sound as great as it was for the price but as an experienced bass player I knew Ibanez was pretty reliable. The guitar is decent unplugged, but its an electric acoustic and thats what its made for and it sounds the best that way. It has much clarity and a warm sound to it, not to mention the beautifuk deep blue/black finish. (The TBlue picture is misleading so go to the Ibanez official website) You can't go wrong buying this guitar for the price, especially playing live.
I bought this guitar a few years ago as my first acoustic guitar that wasn't some piece of junk from a pawn shop. I love the thing to death. It has great sound plugged in or not. The on board equalizer is also a great feature that makes it a bit easier. I have no complaints with this guitar. Whenever my friends play it they always compliement the feel of it and the size, if you like to play electric guitar and don't like the feel of a big ol' acoustic then this is the guitar for you. It's small but powerful.
The sound is extremely flat unless you plug it into an amplifier. People across the room have a hard time hearing saying that it's muffled. I'm sorry, but acoustic sound is supposed to ring when played. This guitar fails...
I just recently purchased this guitar and it is phenomenal! The only thing I can find that is a minor issue is the resonance on the open E isn't the best in comparison to the other strings it is a tad faint but that is a very minor issue and other then that it is a great buy!!!! Highly recommend!!!
I gote this guitar this chrismas and was very happy to get it. It has great tone and looks good.
I am on the Praise and Worship team at a Christian ministry. After the Kona acoustic-electric I'd been playing got stolen (right out ofour chapel!)two years ago, my brothers and sisters in Christ presented me with a black Ibanez Talman on Christmas day, just prior to our Christmas morning worship service. I would recommend this guitar to anyone regardless of what kind of music they play. Not only does it look great, it is so comfortable and easy to play. I have never had any tuning problems with it. The only thing I wish is that the action was a little bit lower as alot of the songs we play are pretty fast.Other than that,GOD BLESS IBANEZ! Y'all have definitely got a Born Again fan for life right here!
The TCY10 was my Christmas present; I wanted something cheap for fingerwork, and I liked the looks of this little guitar. Plus it matched my other ones. The surprise came when I played it over the course of the next few weeks, and the tone mellowed and began to sing. Totally unexpected for a cheap guitar. My wife even went so far as to ask me if I didn't like my other guitars anymore, and of course I do, I do. But this one just sounds and plays so good. Only complaints are: Stock electronics-not so good. Oh well. Stock strings blackening my fingers-fixed with Elixirs. Jack nut loosening-a little dab'll glue ya. Still a great deal, nice puppy. Looks nice too.
I used to dabble back when I was in high school in the late 80's and walked away from it all in the early 90's due to work and college. I had a Kramer Focus 3000 electric and a Yamaha acoustic/electric back then and had always wanted a Kramer Ferrington but never had the money for it. They looked really sweet! The bug hit again last year and I was finally in a financial situation to toss some money into music again and I'm glad I chose this one. It looks great and sounds great too.The only thing I did not like about it is the clip that holds the wiring in place inside the body had no sticky tape on it so I had to put some on myself. Though minor, this is why it only gets a 4.5 in quality but it's not enough to lower the 5 that I'm giving it overall.
..Is now at your fingertips . I bought this bad boy about a year and a half ago and i love it. Its solid and nicely built . The double cutaway body makes higher frets easy to reach unlike o so many acoustic guitars AND this one is electric too! . What more could you ask for in an acoustic electrtic . Ive even kept the strings on them and they still sound brand new .
Nice little axe, more than you'd expect for the price. Well set up right out of the box. Decent sound. Light, easy action, pretty nice neck (slightly deeper than I like, but not bad). Perfect for what I wanted it for -- a 2nd guitar to leave at the office for practice. :) Definitely worth the $.
