I have owned this guitar for going on 13 years. While it is a "cheap" acoustic, it sounds pretty good and I have had zero issues with any mechanical or construction aspects of the guitar. The only challenge I have had is intonation above teh 12th fret. It seems like, if you don't have just the right guage of strings, it can be difficult to get the guitar to be in tune across the entire fretboard. Meaning, E at the 12th is flat or sharp compared with the lower open E on the same string. Otherwise I have played the hell out of this guitar, written two albums with it, performed live on it, and taken it across the country and it's showing few signs of wear. I JUST replaced the string pegs at the bridge after all this time, a cheap fix. A great guitar for a person just learning or a musician on a tight budget.

Comments about Jasmine S-35 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

Now, I'm no fantastic musician, by any means. I just wanted a guitar that would wait for me in the corner of the room on those lonely, rainy nights. She was always there for me and stayed in tune, just the way I like her.

This guitar has a great value. The quality obviously isn't top notch, but it's a great beginner guitar. I was happy with my purchase.

Comments about Jasmine S-35 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

I picked this up for a friend on a Stupid Deal of the Day. I was pleasantly surprised when it came in. Good action especially for a beginner guitar. Plays well. Well worth even the regular pricing. I've been playing guitar for 30+ years and I do own some high end guitars so I was not expecting the quality I received. Thank you Musician's Friend for another great deal and quick shipping! Matte finish, overall guitar looks great.

Comments about Jasmine S-35 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

I picked one of these up as a gift for a friend and it was by far the best thing I could have done. He loves the thing! Going from gibson guitars to a jasmine seems slightly backwards, but it's the best bang for your buck! The neck feels good and has an amazing tone to it. Overall the feel is great for an inexpensive guitar! I would highly recommend buying one for the traveller.

I like how it's loud, but the action is too high. I expecting it to be low, but nope. I have to put a lot pressure on the fretboard for it to play correctly. Not reccomended for beginners.

I am 65 years old, am not a professional or a stage performer, never have been or will be. I play for my own enjoyment as a hobby. It doesn't make sense for myself to spend a ton of money on any instrument. That's what made this Jasmine so appealing to me. Usually the adage is you get what you pay for. Not true in this case. this guitar is really nice and plays well. It's not a Martin or Gibson by any stretch of the imagination but it sounds pretty good. It is constructed well no sharp fret edges and the finish is nice. For the price it can't be beat. I do own a Lil Martin and the difference in tone is obvious but I wanted a dreadnaught size guitar and this fits the bill very well.

DO NOT BUY THIS GUITAR UNLESS YOUR GOING TO USE IT AS A STAGE PROP & SMASH IT WHEN YOUR DONE PLAYING IT!!! FOR THAT USE IT WOULD BE VERY GOOD :) I was very disappointed when I got this guitar. Before I even tuned it I noticed how flimsy the construction was, like the guitar was made out of balsa wood, & it has no finish on the body or the neck. I was able to tune it & it played ok but the strings on it were garbage! Bottom line there are a lot of other guitars at this price point & I would recommend the Epiphone DR100 which was my replacement & I love it!!!

Comments about Jasmine S-35 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

When I received this guitar it was a dog out of the box. Packed very well and damage free, a simple setup was all that was needed to make this a fine player. I polished off the frets (which were pretty level), changed strings to D'Addario EJ16-12P, replaced the plastic nut and saddle with bone and loosened the truss rod. The truss rod was over tightened for some reason and it took a bit of tweaking to get it just right. I will let it sit for a few days then adjust it again once the guitar settles to its new environment. All this took about 30 minutes and I am no expert luthier. It plays like butter now, very sweet.

I highly recommend this fine guitar to anyone who wants an affordable instrument and is willing and able to do a few tweaks to get it right. The fit and finish is outstanding, the only flaw I found was inside the body under the bridge. There was a small piece of shaved wood that remained partially attached to the underside of the bridge. No big deal. The satin finish gives it outstanding tone that I could not believe for a laminated Spruce top. This is one that I will have bedside for late night romps while Ms. Martin resides safely in her case :). Thanks to MF for another great deal, you guys rock!

Just bought a second one for a friend. After having played many guitars at 2 or 3X the price, and having owned one personally for nearly 20 years, Jasmine is still the best bang for buck in the price range. Nice, bright tone, no dead spots, easy action, really solid guitar for the low price. Totally comparable to Fenders and Epiphones at a higher price point. I totally eamt to keep this one I just bought instead of give it to my friend. Seriously best guitar in $$ range.

I have ordered 15 of these for my students and EVERY ONE had the same problems. After I adjusted the neck, bridge and nut, I still had to file most of the frets because the correct method is to mark the high ones, start at the nut and file those. Then go back and check again for frets that were NOT filed the first time and mark and file them. This MUST be done with the neck under tension! I have spent the better part of the afternoon just on fret work. My last one had three hundred & ten unoes of set-up work, and when I sell it, I will not buy any more. Now it plays & sounds GREAT!
