Comments about LX1E Little Martin Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
This is the same guitar that Ed Sheeran, a very popular and fantastic artist, uses. And I know exactly why. It is, quite simply, the best traveler guitar you can buy. With the most crisp sound that you will ever hear in a traveler guitar. When you plug this thing into an amplifier, the sound comes out so crisp and clear that you won't even think you're plugged into anything. The action sits at a perfectly comfortable height, making it very simple to pick up and play. It is small, which makes it perfect for a musician like me. Taking it on an airplane is no problem, nor does it require a check-in.
My only real complaint is on the tuner model. The tuner is very, very poor. Fishman don't make high quality tuners. BUT the effects inside of the electronic set-up are fantastic. Over-all, this is my favorite guitar to play and I would recommend this guitar to ANYONE.

Comments about LX1E Little Martin Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
I bought this for convenience - much easier to grab and practice than my Martin dreadnought, and I'm pretty happy with it. I love that it retains the fretboard feel of a bigger guitar, and the built-in tuner in the preamp is FAB. Having said that, it did take some getting used to the less-rich, more plywoody, boxy tone of this 3/4 guitar (not unexpected, just different), but that is just a fact of a smaller guitar at this price point - not a negative. I do recommend an immediate upgrade on the strings - the factory ones are just average. I would recommend this as a practice/travel guitar (unless you are of the caliber to get Ed Sheeran-like sounds from it!), but wouldn't rule out looking into a baby Taylor either- I was able to play a few in stores, and was satisfied with the sound compared to this Little Martin. PS: Musician's Friend had great cust svc - it arrived much earlier than they said it would- Happy playing!

Comments about LX1E Little Martin Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
This is my second "Little Martin" which features the on board electronics and spruce top that my original one does not. Original one with synthetic material top sounds as good or better than the spruce top one acoustically. Original model gig bag is a little better quality too with thicker padding. Both are quite satisfactory. The Fishman electronics offer diverse and excellent sound quality that compliments the amazing acoustic sound that this model guitar features. Best guitar ever for new acoustic players... maybe the most comfortable acoustic guitar I have ever owned or played. It is by far and away superior to the Martin Back packer which is junk by comparison. You can carry the Little Martin in its gig back and readily carry and store it overhead on regular commercial airplanes too.
I give this guitar model my highest ratings possible. If you are even considering buying one, just go for it! You won't be disappointed! Oh, and after years of trying different acoustic guitar strings, I believe nothing is as clear, loud, balanced and long lasting as "Martin SP" extra light bronze for it and all acoustics. The little Martin comes with standard light gauge bronze strings that are OK, but I doubt they are the Martin SP's. Their regular SP lights come in a red circle marking while the extra lights come in a green circle package. If you prefer a little more volume and punch go for the Regular light(Red circle) strings, or for more speed and notes ringing go for the extra light (green circle) Martin SP strings.

Comments about LX1E Little Martin Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
After reading all 26 rave reviews, I took a chance and am very glad I did. For a small guitar it can hold its own with the big boys. For a Mexican made guitar it has the trademark Martin quality throughout. Very sweet and simple electronics. A joy to travel with and fun to show off. I put an .011 set of strings on it and the intonation is still good and this thing actually rocks. I have two Martins now and I will never let them go. After fifty years of playing I thought I'd seen them all but this was a pleasant surprise. Many thanks to both Martin Musician's Friend for giving me such a fine instrument at a great price. I'm glad to be rave review #27.

Comments about LX1E Little Martin Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
15 years of playing, my guitar is a Martin DC Aura. Paid a high price for it. But as good as the dc aura is, I am almost more amazed with this little martin when plugged in, than the first time I played the dc aura. Wasn't expecting much, but was fooled. This thing is good on regular amp or acoustic amp. Anyone from 9-99 trying to learn should give this axe a chance. Highly recommend.

Comments about LX1E Little Martin Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
Arthritis is making it harder and harder for me to reach way out on the neck of my full size guitars, so the Little Martin is a solution to that problem.I can play this Little Martin for lengthy periods, especially learning new music, then readily transfer to the bigger, full size guitars I have.
I'll never be able to afford a full-size Martin that's not plywood, and have other guitars that meet the needs, but am happy to have one Martin in my stable.
I am impressed by the depth of the sounds from it, and am inclined to put it up against most full sized guitars. I would describe the sound as Martinesque, and that's without it having the time to "open up." The electronics work well, and as expected.
One change I did make immediately was to get some self-adhesive clear mylar and install a pick guard. The matte finish appears to be ready made to pick every little bit of oil or dirt off my hand, and I would like to keep this guitar looking good.
Next purchase will probably be a hard case, as the included gig bag is little more than a dust cover.
Also, during the wait time for the backorder, I had to contact Musician's Friend to change billing, and was treated courteously and professionally - all my needs were met!

Comments about LX1E Little Martin Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
I was looking for a small, but good travel guitar that had a good sound. I played a couple other brands at the local music stores but they all sounded "puny". Musicians friend's 30 day return policy which includes "dont like it, send it back" influenced my decision to try this one. The sound is as big as a larger acoustic would give, and the tone is full. It has a built in tuner and pick up. Its great for what i wanted it for, and I would also recommend it to somebody who is just learning, wants to continue and is ready for the upgrade.

Comments about LX1E Little Martin Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
Best bang for your buck...sounds great unplugged, feels good in your hands. Plugged in, the Fishman electronics really shine. Could easily be mistaken for a full size guitar through a decent acoustic amp. You won't find a more fun to play/great sounding little acoustic for the money. Top quality guitar!
Comments about LX1E Little Martin Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
Little Martin - LX1E - Acoustic Electric - Fishman Electronics with Built-in Tuner, Volume Button, Contour & Phase Buttons. Very nice padded gig bag included with a large exterior pocket to carry music books, sheet music and accessories. Back straps for carrying guitar on your back or padded handle to carry by your side. Construction is solid, quality is excellent and the Solid Spruce Top (light brown) against the darker (HPL) sides and back give the guitar an awesome look.
Once again, Martin's years of experience comes through even with their Little Martin Series. It's hard not to be a fan of Martin Guitars. The quality and craftsmanship is still evident in this downsized instrument. I own 2 others - a Martin SPJC-16RE and a Martin D-15 Mahogany. I also own a Yamaha LL-15 which I had used for 10 years in performance in a pop duo. I had always thought that the Yamaha was the best sounding guitar I had ever heard and played on until I bought my first Martin (D-15). I would never buy anything but a Martin now. The Little Martin is what it is, however, so do not expect that you will get the same large sound as the larger body guitars unless it is plugged into an amp. Yet, the sound has the distinct "Martin" quality that surpasses any other brand I have heard. It is solid and surprisingly heavy for it's size and the action is good although I will have my luthier look it over and make any necessary adjustments (The string height at the 12th fret is just a little high for me but is certainly not a problem). The Fishman electronics raise the level of this guitar to performance quality. I was pleasantly surprised to see the built-in tuner which was not mentioned in the specs. I used this guitar in church leading worship and everyone said it sounded great including the sound room crew. It sounds like a Martin.
You will not be disappointed in the quality of this guitar. It is solid, well crafted and despite it being called a "student" guitar, it is a real instrument that can be passed down from generation to generation for many years of enjoyment.
This is a great guitar for the price. If anything, it is underpriced.
