Comments about PRS SE Carlos Santana Electric Guitar:

At the price MF is asking for this axe, you should feel like you're stealing if you buy it!! No foolin'! I've been playing my Santana SE for about six years now and, I'll tell you, it has become my "go to" guitar for practically all of my needs. The Santana is a very light, easy-on-the-fingers guitar that literally "gives" you the riffs you want! I doubt that this PRS will even need any set-up when you receive it! I love the mobility I enjoy when playing the Santana model. The sound is more gutsy, thick and sweet than my Pauls and any of my Fenders. If you ask it, this guitar responds! It plays easier and sounds better than guitars that cost thousands more!
You don't have to be a Pro to appreciate the fine qualities of this axe. It stays in tune wonderfully in spite of your playing style. The tuners are excellent! The neck is one of the fastest I've ever had the pleasure of sqeezin'! And the pickups...Wow, the pickups! You can get the softest, thickest blues sound from the neck P.U.. The mid setting, i.e. using both pickups, is extremely versatile and will satisfy players of any, grunge, blues, hard rock, etc. And the bridge pickup has the capability to rip your ears plumb off your head! Truly! However,if you tone it down a bit, the bridge p.u. is perfectly at home with those clean, el rapido grande tones! LISTEN: This PRS Santana SE is so fine that I couldn't find any "cons" to mention! The finish is deep and beautiful...The frets are flush and smooth to the neck...The tail-piece will give you mountains of sustain and the cut-away allows easy access to all 22 frets. I can't think of a single reason for not buying this PRS Santana SE. This guitar made me closet my '56 LPJr. AND my strat. This guitar is extremely well made, is a breeze to play, beautiful to look at and priced way below the quality it possesses. What's stoppin' ya!

Comments about PRS SE Carlos Santana Electric Guitar:

OK, 41 years playing; since 10 years old in 4th grade. Guitars - 2 Gibsons Les Pauls, a Custom and a Studio, 1 Fender Signature Strat, and 3 PRS SE's, a Custom 24 w/ maple neck-ebony fretboard, a Bernie Marsden, and this Santana. IMHO, this is a unique guitar because of the oddities of Santana's preferences. First, it is tail heavy. It does not balance on the lap easily. I use a strap at all times with this guitar ... sitting or standing. Second, unlike other guitars Paul Reed Smith has released, the volume knob on this Santana is in the way of the down strum; remember that this is the way Carlos likes it. And, I've had to block off the tremolo with a block of Honduran mahogany because I bend a lot and this trem just won't stay tuned with heavy string bending. Sounds better blocked off, too, IMO.

To the point, own this guitar after playing this guitar and LIKING it. It is quite unique compared to other single or double cutaways. For me, this is my novelty guitar with GREAT tone and woody warmth ... but it is not my number 1 by any means. Do I like it? YES. Do I love it? NO. Would I buy it sight unplayed? NO. For example, what would I buy sight unplayed? The Bernie Marsden.
