This is a great guitar for a beginner or someone who wants to experiment or use it as a base for a custom guitar. The neck is very nice and would cost more than the guitar if you had to buy it alone. The humbucker is pretty good, and the singles are okay. The factory left some dust under the covers in the back, but that was easily cleanable. I used the stock strings for awhile, but I can say it plays one heck of a lot better with some Ernie Ball Stalinless Steel Super Slinkys. There is a bit of noise when the tone adjustmnet is set all the way clockwise, but you can get new pots cheap or just don't peg the pot all the way.The tremolo is fun, but after I used it for awhile, I locked it down by tightening all the screws as much as possible at the neck end of the bracket, add a block in back, and then reset the intonation. This thing stays in tune just fine!I did have to adjust the intonation which arrived with no adjustment at all, and I did a slight tweak to the neck, but it was pretty good to start with. Instructions for setting the intonation are available in many places online. If you are handy, you can do the tuneup yourself. If not take it to a shop as many do with far more expensive guitars. If it is for someone who will not stick with it, you will save some dough. Someone who really wants to learn will find it adequate with some adjustment. And others will buy it for some useful and decent parts to build a custom axe. The volume and tone knobs are real nice and would run $10-$20 alone, and again the maple and roswewood neck is very nice. The frets were finished better than a comparable Fender I had and many others I've seen. The finish on the body is pretty nice, but I think I am going to strip mine and refinish it someday, or maybe redo the body altogether. The decription does not mention that it comes with a hookup cable. Mine was so noisy, I just threw it away. I had ordered one with the guitar not knowing it came with one. I'd order one anyway. Some people might think it is the guitar causing the line noise, when it is in fact, the cable. Also, get a Fender Mustang I if you don't have a decent amp. It is well worth it and makes this guitar sound really good; much better than the 10W or 15W units that come in guitar packs for just a little more money. There is little else that comes in packs that's worth it which the possible exception of a stand and picks, which should not be a real consideration. You can get better tuners and straps if you just do some research.I think I read somewhere that a pro band buys lots of these to smash during their act. That also means they use them to play their songs.

Ideal guitar for a beginner. I would highly recommend changing to better quality strings prior to use.

Comments about Rogue RR100 Rocketeer Electric Guitar:
After over 50 years of straining at the strings I am always being asked..."What is a good "Cheap" guitar? I wondered if there was a good, cheap guitar to be found. I have been looking for quite some time. I have played and examined many different brands and models. Most cheap,(very inexpensive) guitars are...in a word...horrible! All the usual stuff. They buzz, poor pick-ups, terrible necks, stripped screws, broken switches, action a monkey couldn't play, tuning gears that won't stay close...even for a jazz band, finish that is so scratched and marred it looks like it was tossed down a flight of stairs, but you get my point...horrible. UNTILL I found the Rogue RR 100 Rocketeer. Don't get me wrong..this is a very inexpensive electric guitar BUT it has potential.
I read the reviews so I decided to give it a try. It arrived unbroken but the Packing left MUCH to be desired.(I was lucky it arrived in one piece.)After a quick exam I saw there was a LOT of setting up to do. The body had a few scratches and flaws where the finish was rubbed off but... it's a cheap guitar. The biggest problem was the screws holding the bridge down were not screwed in all the way! With that fixed I went on to check neck curvature (the truss rod). The frets needed dressing. Set the intonation, set the bridge and pick-up height. Check for fret buzz, attached the tremolo arm, plugged it in and let 'er rip! WOW not bad. Not what I would use live on Austin City Limits but not bad. An EXCELLENT axe for a beginner or back-up for someone with a few calluses earned over the years.
IT WILL NEED A COMPLETE SET-UP. But once that is done your on your way to rock city, or where ever your headed. The guitar is cheap enough to get a pro set-up (please don't try this if you don't know what your doing. It's worth it to let a pro do it.) and still have some bread for strings, a tuner,(it's amazing how much better a guitar sounds when it is in tune.) and some lessons!
As Rocky would say...Go for it!!!

Comments about Rogue RR100 Rocketeer Electric Guitar:
I bought the RR100 on the "Stupid deal of the day".
It's the best deal I have ever made on anything, period.Yes,this guitar is not finished off, with the quality of a higher priced modal, but it plays'incredibly, for a cheap guitar.I have light gauge strings' on mine and I can bend notes' and gain speed, like never before.I don't use the whammy, because I really don't need to.I can pretty much get what I want, just by playing straight-out!
I have an Epiphone G-400 and a Madeira-strat-copy and honestly, this little guitar out-shines both of them!I have been able to pick-up more lead-licks' on this guitar, than the others' and you can get around on the neck like lightening!I've been playing for some years' now and I would recommend this guitar to anyone!I know the better players' will scoff, but this guitar is really quite astonishing.I don't see how they can build something that plays' this well, right out of the box,for so little money.I am beginning to think that this is one of those guitars'that, down the road people will say,"I wish I had bought ten of them, back then"!!!!!!Honest,No Jive!
The style I like to play is somewhere in the genre of "Jimi Hendrix/Stevie Ray Vaughn" and this guitar gets' me there, with ease!Nice tone, too. If it broke, the only thing that I would do different,is get the"blue"one instead of"Black"
:)

Comments about Rogue RR100 Rocketeer Electric Guitar:
This is a lot of guitar for the money. I did a lite fret job and refinished the neck. Out of the box the neck is a little raw. Inexpensive Asian guitars almost always can use some neck work. This is where the builder saves some money to bring it in at a low price point. A person who has the skills to finish the neck can have an excellent instrument on the cheap.
I made a short demo video.

Comments about Rogue RR100 Rocketeer Electric Guitar:
This is a great option for those wanting to learn to play electric guitar without feeling like they have to spend big bucks to get decent quality. After adjusting the bridge, it played rather easily, so I would recommend having a pro set it up once you acquire it. But after that, it's a great option for beginners to acquire and play for a long time until a long-term guitar comes along.

Comments about Rogue RR100 Rocketeer Electric Guitar:
Guitar has good variation and tone control via 5-way blade switch and tone control knob. I had to tighten the nut on the input jack as it had a short in it when I got it. Otherwise it has a good finish, feel, and excellent value for the money spent.

I really enjoy this guitar! It is easy to play and plays much better than my G-400 epiphone.IMHO,I would put this guitar up against guitars costing $350.00 and Up!Mine plays that well.I hope that you get the same results that I have!:)
