OVERVIEW

The GD93 is a dreadnought-style acoustic guitar with a refined and contemporary look that features a solid top and special back construction, giving it an upscale feel and distinctive sound.

For players looking for something extra special, the GD93 features a solid spruce top, rosewood sides and a beautiful three-piece rosewood/quilt maple back. The slim mahogany neck and 12"-radius bound rosewood fingerboard provide great feel and playability, while the split-saddle design of the rosewood bridge provides superior intonation for sweeter-sounding chords and single-note runs.

Other premium features include maple body, neck and headstock binding; dark wood rosette and body purfling; synthetic bone nut and bridge saddle; rosewood headcap; abalone dot inlays; gold die-cast tuners with black buttons; and a beautiful gloss finish. Case sold separately.

Comments about Takamine G Series GD93 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

I chose this guitar after trying a number at this price range. I had my heart set on a seagull S6 slim until I played the two one after the other. I found in a direct comparison the gd93 was noticeably easier to get clearer bass notes on barre chords for a novice like myself.
The finish, while not to my taste particularly looks very good quality. I have very much enjoyed playing it since my purchase. No regrets here

Comments about Takamine G Series GD93 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

This is my second Takamine G Series guitar. I also own the GD20 with a cedar top. The whole series features laminated back and sides with solid tops and very nice finishes. The quality and sound of these guitars in this price range is really hard to beat. The construction is top notch with no shortcuts that I can find. Having played for over 40 years, I am impressed with this whole line and will be adding a couple more to my collection before I'm done. Definitely their 12-string and at least one cutaway electric. Again, I heartily recommend this brand over all the competitors in this price range. The look and feel rivals much higher end guitars. And the sound, while not as rich or resonant as top enders, is very well balanced and enjoyable to listen to for most styles of playing. And the more I play these guitars, the better they sound. I recommend Elixir Nanoweb Extra Light strings on this one for a little brighter punch. The only downside of this guitar is that it might not fit a player with small hands very well.
