This is a perfect stage guitar. I would rather have a takamine than a martin anyday. This guitar was made with superior craftmanship. Has great action; unbelievable pickups that you can speak through if you talk into the guitar; very well crafted body; stays in tune even when i transport it. I can tell the difference between this guitar and the other two takamines that i own (the basic dreadnought body style that i use as a beach guitar). I play in a two piece acoustic band at the beach down on the gulf coast. My bandmate also has a high dollar takamine. His takamine and this one play just alike and complement each other. His was purchased in the early nineties and has held up well. The difference in craftmanship between a high dollar and low dollar takamine, or most other guitars is that master craftsmen make the expensive ones, and the people training to be masters make the low end ones.

I'm on my third guitar! On my other two a bumb developed on the 16th fret and my top cracked on my last one too. Really POOR craftsmanship... and the company... don't get me started. Talk about jerking some one around! Never returned phone calls, rude, and then charged for repairs they NEVER FIXED! The first GB-7C I had was great, but these two just SUCK!!!

Great guitar

By toneunknown

from Treasure Coast in Florida.

Comments about Takamine GB-7C Garth Brooks Signature Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I have had this guitar for about 6 years now. It is my main instrument playing 3 to 5 gigs a week, and I have had no problems. I have worn a hole where the pick guard would be, but I don't mind this for a road guitar. I purchased it originally for the electronics (the best), but I love the playability too. The only maintence I have had is two fret jobs.... not the electronics like you would think.

Gorgeous

Comments about Takamine GB-7C Garth Brooks Signature Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

A great balanced sound, perfect intonation and beautiful action. The sound is very mellow and warm; a gorgeous jazz tone guitar. The only downside is playing in an large ensemble (i.e. in a church worship band) i often look for the clarity of the high tones and that high-end quality, without an EQ i couldn't find that perfect tone i was looking for while amplified. Otherwise, this guitar is absolutely one of the best guitars I have ever played and heard.

Gospel music never had it so good

By The Saint

from Arkoma, OK

Comments about Takamine GB-7C Garth Brooks Signature Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I've been playing in the gospel praise and worship genre for many years. I trade guitars around a lot. The GB7 will not be traded. It is the best sounding--deepest bass and mid-range guitar I've ever heard. It will ring out in an sanctuary full of people and hold the note forever.

simply beautiful

By Natalie Silva

Comments about Takamine GB-7C Garth Brooks Signature Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I came in intending to buy another Tak, but fell in love with this one. It's so amazing. It stands out in group settings. Comparing it to Taylors and Breedloves, it is just as wonderful. Depending on the tone your looking for, this should grab your ear. Everyone needs one like it.

Takamine GB-&C

Comments about Takamine GB-7C Garth Brooks Signature Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Great acoustic guitar. I used this for 2 years with my band, never had any issues with it. Nice and loud, crisp and clear sound. Pickups are excellent. I did install a pickguard on it to avoid scratches on the natural finish. I also found this sounded killer in combination iwth a BBE Sonic Maximizer. Just a beautiful instrument that really sings. I have had 4 Taks so far, and after test playing Martins and Taylors, I still went with one. They have great necks!

You Can't beat this guitar

By TomCollins

from South

Comments about Takamine GB-7C Garth Brooks Signature Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Worth the price. I have had this guitar from the first year it came out and have had no problems with it. The action is the best that I have played; but the pickups set this guitar in a class of its own.The only negative that I can think of is that the tuner comes on and kills the battery every great once and a while during moves in a hardcase. Only happened 2 times ever.

Best I've ever played

By guitarman-qOD49

from Starbuck, MN

Comments about Takamine GB-7C Garth Brooks Signature Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I have liked the Takamine guitar ever since I did stage crew for John Michael Montgomery. This guitar is like silk. It plays great and sounds great plugged or unplugged. I can see why Garth's band used this guitar. It's one of the best out there today and the future!
