Comments about Takamine GD93CE G Series Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I bought this on a Stupid Deal Of The Day at an insane price. It is my second Takamine. I love how it feels in my hands. The neck is perfect for my fingers. It plays really well. It sounds great acoustically or amplified. It's a beautiful guitar. I love it. The only minor thing was the action was set a little high for my taste. That has been rectified. Musicians Friend does it again with their service as well.

Comments about Takamine GD93CE G Series Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I can't begin to express how impressed I am with this guitar. In spite of being made in china everything about this guitar says quality. From the tone to the beautiful 3 piece back, this thing is a winner. I saw this on the Stupid Deal of The Day promotion and took chance. Before it even arrived I was convinced that I was going to be disappointed and return it. Well, needless to say I was highly mistaken upon delivery. This guitar is SOLID, it feels as tight as my $3k guitars. Now don't get me wrong, I can definitely tell a difference when playing them all, but it only further proves itself when playing along side my big dogs (Taylor 714ce and Martin HD-28V). There are some things you can upgrade such as bridge pins, saddle & nut, strings, and tuner buttons. However, it would simply be for personal preference and not a necessity for this thing to perform with the best. I do not work for, or promote products for any of these companies. I simply want to share how impressed I am with this unit. I currently have a total of 8 acoustic guitars and this one stays on a stand next to my couch and gets the most pay time by far... Takamine nailed it on this one so don't hesitate if yore u've considering it! Hope this helps!

Comments about Takamine GD93CE G Series Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Very nice out of the box, all wood construction and that said each will be unique. Not mentioned pictured is the beautiful 3 piece (35) style rosewood back with maple center. Mine is beautiful, the sound is warm, rich with plenty of acoustic volume. I did not plug in so can't speak for that. I did youtube review/ comparison on this and Alvarez AD90CE, both SD of Day. Both nice guitars. I will change to either wood or bone pins and will then decide on the nut and saddle of changing it to bone, but definitely the bridge pins I just don't like plastic. Some say you don't busk with a nice guitar, but isn't that the purpose of the beautiful sound..... to share it with as many people as possible. I will probable play these strings out that came stock but will go to medium 13 strings for more volume. Since the setup is very close, nicely I may add the medium gauge should eliminate the need of me relieving tension from the neck. The setup is fine if you play soft to medium but if you play aggressively and strum hard you also may choose that. I try to make a guitar pay for itself, and did get a great deal so she will go out on the street. I also take my Martins and my 1940 Gibson (worth IMO $8500) out because I believe in as many people benefitting from a beautiful sounding instrument and playing a junker in public is backward. A guitar is meant to be heard, and if your guitar is worth hearing, it's worth sharing, the Takamine GD93CE is worthy to busk, play bluegrass, gospel, rock, consistent volume worthy of playing beside a banjo, mando, fiddle, washboard, etc. this guitar was constructed in China bet very nicely and with pride and skill. A great choice if you can't get a $1200 Martin Gibson. Check out my youtube review. Last thing, the wood is important and by chance ordering online, I could not have chosen a prettier wood grain.

I had to file the bridge saddle down a little to get the action where I like it, but for the money it was well worth it. These guitars look great and sound even better.

Comments about Takamine GD93CE G Series Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I purchased this G90 series Takamine hoping it would approach the quality of the Takamine Pro Series Models. I had played several Pro Series Models and they were a little too expensive for me at this time. I was hoping the G90 series might come close.

I was excited about the promotional savings Musician's Friend extended and decided to take a chance.

The guitar arrived and I felt the finish was very nice. In checking the frets, I found many were not finished and had sharp edges. They were also "low frets" and although that might be okay in some instances, the high action would make playing harder for a beginer and tedious for a seasoned pro. The action could not be easily lowered as the internal pickup system was attached to the bridge and, would require a technician pro to cut down the bridge. I will add a positive...the neck was perfectly straight and required no adjustment.

Musicians friend understood and, without question, accepted the return. I am pleased with their service and will deal with them again. Takamine has a good reputation and I feel, if you are a pro...stick with the pro-series. Anything less will be a disappointment.
