Comments about Takamine GN93CE G Series NEX Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Guitar was heavily discounted due to it being a blem. It took me some serious looking before I finally located the blem that just happens to sit on the lower bottom edge facing the floor where your arm hides it anyway. It was a small 1" scratch that is barely visible. At least now I do not have to feel bad about the first scratch I am destined to make myself...

I would buy this guitar again any day. It has great tone, plays wonderfully and looks nice as well. Takamine makes a great product.

        Great guitar for the money

Comments about Takamine GN93CE G Series NEX Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I am the Music Minister and Worship Leader for a small church. I have played a Takamine for over 20 years and decided I wanted to try the NEX body style.
The tone is impressive, with our without the electronics. This guitar proves that you don't have to break the bank to own a beautiful and great sounding guitar. I have been running it through my Fishman Loudbox Artist and it's a great combination. This combo suits my every need.

Comments about Takamine GN93CE G Series NEX Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I'd been looking for a grand auditorium-style guitar for a while, and found one of these slightly used for a really good price. I was very pleased when I got it. Overall, this is a very beautiful, well-built guitar for the price. It just goes to show how much better Chinese guitars are getting.

I did replace the tuners, as the ones it comes with are pretty cheap plasic ones, and it's hard to get a precise tuning. Also, as another reviewer mentioned the frets were a little sharp, but that's to be expected when you by a Chinese guitar. The solid spruce top looks and sounds nice, the back and sides are laminate, but since I live in a dry climate and play a lot of bar gigs, I appreciate the sturdiness. The nut and saddles aren't bad quality, but the action was high, which is easy to take care of if your willing to pay for a good set up and upgrade.

The pickup has a surprisingly natural sound, and the built-in tuner is a nice extra. Not quite as hot as my dreadnought's Fishman, but it doesn't have that bright, nutty sound that a lot of piezos have.

If you're looking for a perfect guitar right out of the box, you better plan on spending another grand on something else. However, if you're willing to have a luthier set it up, replace the tuners, and install a bone nut and compensated saddles, you'll have a really useable workhorse axe.
