Solid European spruce top, rosewood body, and ebony fretboard, all on a moderately priced yamaha classical.

From Yamaha comes a beautiful classical acoustic that's built with strength and design that both beginners and seasoned players can appreciate, and is offered at a great price.

The Yamaha CG192S classical guitar produces a soft sound ideal for fingerpicking, or intimate chord progressions, thanks to its nylon strings and superior woods. The full-size classical guitar design features strong mid-range and lower-mids, with emphasis on balanced tone. The end result is a Yamaha guitar with lots of smooth, classical appeal, for a great price.

The solid European spruce top produces clear balanced tone, with plenty of definition and presence. The rosewood back and sides add bold sound, and thick projection with lots of responsiveness. The Yamaha CG192S guitar's mahogany neck complements these qualities and adds clarity and dynamics to a guitar with lots of dimension. Adjust your attack and sustain for each note, and the classical guitar responds accordingly.

Other features of the Yamaha classical guitar include rosewood bridge, beautiful ebony fretboard, white mother-of-pearl peg tuners, and chrome hardware for a classic-looking classical guitar. Built to the precise specifications of Yamaha's master craftsmen, this gorgeous nylon-string guitar will continue to sound as good as the day you bought it. Make that day today and order now.

Best Yamaha !

By NELSON HOLLINS

from TORONTO ON

Comments about Yamaha CG192S Spruce Top Classical Guitar:

The stock strings on the cedar are ok.
The sprucetop model sounded off a lot at first, until changing to a new set of strings.
Augustine basses : La Bella trebles....golden nylon.
I like the thinner woods & thinner finish used , because that is what makes an instrument sing louder & clearer.
Being more free to vibrate , it sounds like a handmade expensive guitar.
Old Yamaha's had thick plastic finishes which dampened the sound too much.
The new is lightyears better & the guitar is noticeably lighter in ovrall weight , making it easier to hold & play.
The simple headstock design suits a classical guitar , better than the fancy overdone baroque styles you see on other brands.
If the inside bracing was more smoothly sanded , this guitar would rate 15 out of 10.
All the outside is excellent finish & fit.
There's no marks , flaws , or anything to complain about.
It looks like a well made instrument.
The mahogany neck helps give better sound.
The heel block point is not sharp like the old style Yamaha classicals !
The emerald green line in the purfling is an nice Irish touch.
The frets have been done well.
I was so impressed with the sound , looks , & lightness of this Spruce top , that i ordered the Cedar.
2 beauties at a great deal.
When i quietly play the loud , deep bass cedar , i think the spruce will just have to decorate my wall with its beautiful unstained light colored top against the dark Indian rosewood sides.
Then the next day , playing J.S. Bach on the spruce really does some decent justice to this perfect polyphonic music, bringing out the 3rds & 6ths real clear.
So , the Cedar is romantic.....Spruce is light & happy sounding.
The Spruce will improve as it ages 2-3 years as the resin hardens......Bach is sound better as i age too !
The Cedar sound is at its maximum right away, having very little sap to cure.

EXCELLENT FACTORY MODEL

By NELSON HOLLINS

Comments about Yamaha CG192S Spruce Top Classical Guitar:

The 1st string was out of intonation a lot. Using 3 different new 1st's made no improvement.Gently sanding all top braces with 150/220/320fixed it !And the sound now is louder , livelier , & much better !This model has beautiful purfling, & is fantastic for the price, especially @ Musicians Friend. After 30 years using cedar top classicals, the cleaner louder spruce is great. For plywood sides & back of Indian Rosewood , this sure has excellent projection. The GC31 has solid woods throughout , but costs 3 x's more.

best factory classical for the money !

By NELSON HOLLINS

from TORONTO ON

Comments about Yamaha CG192S Spruce Top Classical Guitar:

The mohogany neck makes the difference in better sound compared to nato wood. The overall quality detailing is excellent. The bodywood is thin which shows the bracing a little, but the tradeoff for better louder sound is worth it !An excellent instrument for plywood sides & back.
