I'm gonna be straight forward here. I own a few Gibson electrics as well as some very nice Fenders, so I'm gonna use those for reference. It's an unfair comparison, I know, but trust me on this.I got this thing after owning a few unplayable acoustics. I got a Yamaha because of the quality and the good reputation, and to be honest, because of the price. I'm in the process of getting a nice Guild jumbo, but I wanted a beater, I didn't wanna worry about taking this one all over the place.I've spend hours with this guitars before writing here. It's a very nice acoustic, not the wide open tone you get with some solid tops, not the same sustain, but if you compare it to others in the same price range, this guitar will blow them out of the water. I mean, it's like it doesn't belong in the same category as most guitars out there in this price range. This guitar is very, very easy to play, the neck is quite comfortable if you have medium to large hands. Any old fool can play this, the action was incredible right out of the box, the intonation is ok but not perfect.I got this one new, and it came out with some marks and little things that went away as soon as I cleaned the top a little. The fretboard was dry, but that's easily fixed. The tone is very nice, a nice balance, great for folk and general strumming. Very easy to play leads with this as well, not the best brilliance or volume but a nice, round tone overall. It's got more sustain than other cheap acoustics I've played. No buzzing at all, frets are not jumbo or anything, but it's a smooth neck. Again, incredible action, I can't get over it, that alone is worth the price! The quality is what you would expect for the price. Back and sides look good, the fretboard doesn't look as solid as the Gibson's, but it's perfectly fine. The tuners are smooth. Nut, saddle and pins should and will be replaced, but that can wait a little. The strap pin is a cheap plastic thing, but that also can be replaced for pennies. Cheap guitar but doesn't feel like it at all.Overall, I'm very glad I got this one, and if you want a real nice acoustic on the budget then this is the ticket. Other reviews here speak the truth when they say this is a huge value. it is, glad I took time to do a bit of research.

Guitar has a surface blemish on the face of it. Who ever assembled this guitar tried to sand it out but sanded it in the wrong direction then covered it with a clear finish. The piece of wood should have been thrown away and not used on this guitar but now I'm stuck with it. Not happy with the cosmetic quality of this guitar and will not buy anything from this company ever again

Comments about Yamaha F335 Acoustic Guitar:

If you are looking for a good quality entry into the world of acoustic guitars, this is a great place to start!

This guitar has not disappointed me at all! Of course it doesn't have pickups, but at this price point you can't expect that. I was worried about how well it would stay in tune, since that is often a problem with cheaper guitars, but it has surprised me how well it stays in tune.

I've had several compliments on how good it looks (I got the black one) and one of my friends, after playing it for a few minutes, offered to trade it for his much more expensive Martin. I told him how much I had paid for it and he was surprised.

Comments about Yamaha F335 Acoustic Guitar:

MF gave me such a great price on this guitar and it is worth every penny. All I had to do was tune it up and right out of the box it sounded terrific. The finish on it is beautiful. Always liked the tobacco burst. Stays in tune, plays easily enough with no buzz. Well balanced sound. I really like playing it and won't be afraid to make it my take-anywhere guitar. I have to say that the MF Gearhead gave me a coupon code which lowered the price even more. Thanks MF. I'll be dealing with you later, too.

I was going to buy a cheaper "starter" guitar, but a friend of mine recommended I buy the Yamaha. He was right, this is a guitar that will last for some time while I'm learning. Looks nice, sounds nice.

Comments about Yamaha F335 Acoustic Guitar:

I picked this guitar up on the presidents day sale. I know Yamaha's quality since I use to own a AC1R acoustic for a few years before having to sell it because of financial problems. This guitar sounds almost as good as the AC1R that costs over 7 times as much. I am pleased and Yamaha guitars are the closest in tone I have found to my dream acoustic guitars, the Martin acoustics. I will one day own a Martin acoustic, but for now these guitars sooth my appetite with their sweet tone and playabilty.

Only one negative on the guitar I found which this is the case for some other guitars as well, there is no third fret marker. I have played over 6 years and as far as an inlay marker on the fret board itself is not such a big deal for me, but the side marker that you look down and see while playing I didn't realize I used as much as I do until I started playing this guitar. What I did was take some whiteout and an old pen. I dipped the pen in the whiteout and slowly "rolled" it with the pen tip and its sides. This made a good third fret side marker. I learned that if the acoustic I am looking at doesn't have a third fret marker on the fret board chances are there won't be one on the top side either. Still this guitar is a steal. I would buy another one if it gets stolen. Can't be the tone and quality of Yamaha guitars.

If your looking for an inexpensive acoustic guitar, this is the one to get. Easy to play, sounds good and attractive. As good as entry level Martin of Taylor for far less than half the price. Set up is fine out of the box. Factory Strings are OK. I plan to change to Martin Lights eventually but no rush. Good fit and finish. I've been playing for 50 years and own Martin, Gibson, Taylor, Fender etc. Bought as a beater for travel and was amazed. Much, much better than comparably priced acoustics. I know. I have owned them and given them away. Definitely the way to go for beginners to intermediate players or as an extra guitar. Buy it!
