I'm gonna be straight forward here. I own a few Gibson electrics as well as some very nice Fenders, so I'm gonna use those for reference. It's an unfair comparison, I know, but trust me on this.I got this thing after owning a few unplayable acoustics. I got a Yamaha because of the quality and the good reputation, and to be honest, because of the price. I'm in the process of getting a nice Guild jumbo, but I wanted a beater, I didn't wanna worry about taking this one all over the place.I've spend hours with this guitars before writing here. It's a very nice acoustic, not the wide open tone you get with some solid tops, not the same sustain, but if you compare it to others in the same price range, this guitar will blow them out of the water. I mean, it's like it doesn't belong in the same category as most guitars out there in this price range. This guitar is very, very easy to play, the neck is quite comfortable if you have medium to large hands. Any old fool can play this, the action was incredible right out of the box, the intonation is ok but not perfect.I got this one new, and it came out with some marks and little things that went away as soon as I cleaned the top a little. The fretboard was dry, but that's easily fixed. The tone is very nice, a nice balance, great for folk and general strumming. Very easy to play leads with this as well, not the best brilliance or volume but a nice, round tone overall. It's got more sustain than other cheap acoustics I've played. No buzzing at all, frets are not jumbo or anything, but it's a smooth neck. Again, incredible action, I can't get over it, that alone is worth the price! The quality is what you would expect for the price. Back and sides look good, the fretboard doesn't look as solid as the Gibson's, but it's perfectly fine. The tuners are smooth. Nut, saddle and pins should and will be replaced, but that can wait a little. The strap pin is a cheap plastic thing, but that also can be replaced for pennies. Cheap guitar but doesn't feel like it at all.Overall, I'm very glad I got this one, and if you want a real nice acoustic on the budget then this is the ticket. Other reviews here speak the truth when they say this is a huge value. it is, glad I took time to do a bit of research.

This is a basic guitar, to me, it has no noteable features to get excited about but it's a very nice "basic" guitar. Truth be known, I bought the guitar for two reasons: 1) I like how Yamaha guitars sound and 2) I wanted an inexpensive guitar with high action. You would normally not want a guitar with high action but I was looking for something that would make me work harder. I assumed inexpensive = high action. Bad assumption. This guitar does not have high action, nor does it have action that is too low, causing string buzz. I played every note from one end of the fretboard to the other and no buzz whatsoever. I chose black and it's beautiful. The wife received the package when I was at work. By the size of the box she immediately thought "he bought another guitar!" She later shared with me that when she opened the box her first thought was "this is a beautiful guitar." Suddenly it was cool that I bought another guitar.
We all value objects differently, I have given this guitar a "It's well worth the price" label and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a first acoustic guitar.
This price and it's yours. Plays beautifully, looks great and sounds wonderful.

Comments about Yamaha F335 Acoustic Guitar:
I purchased this guitar as a gift for a beginner. It has a nice round tone, nice feel and action and a flawless finish. An excellent value for the money. The pick guard didn't do justice to the rest of the instrument. It was a gift well appreciated - A recommended buy.

Comments about Yamaha F335 Acoustic Guitar:
Why is this thing so cheap?!! Wonderful rich sound, easy to play, and great volume! One thing to need to know is that the strings will buzz at first. This is because the strings are new and need time to stretch out. Give it some time, (about 2 days) and you'll love it! I have owned a martin sigma guitar that wasn't as nice as this! I know of a professional player who uses one as a good go-around guitar. I highly, ehem... HIGHLY recommend!!!

Comments about Yamaha F335 Acoustic Guitar:
I am a snowbird and have a Martin at home. I am now flying to Arizona so I needed a low priced fill in guitar for the winter and found the yamaha f335 has an outstanding sound and feel. Not as good as the Martin but not far from it. Would definitely buy another one.

Comments about Yamaha F335 Acoustic Guitar:
This is a really good guitar with wonderful vibration in the neck when you play. It has rich sound and anything a beginning guitar player would want. I had mine on a stand for about 3 months once and it only needed a little tuning after all that time. It is a pretty hardy guitar. Overall a very good guitar for beginners and intermediate.

Comments about Yamaha F335 Acoustic Guitar:
I have been wanting to learn to play for years. When Santa brought my 8 year old son a new acoustic, I took the plunge and agreed to learn along with him.
After a lot of research and testing, I settled on the F335 (Black). It tuned quickly, has great sound for the price point and has allowed me to progress quickly in my learning.
Overall extremely pleased with the purchase!

Comments about Yamaha F335 Acoustic Guitar:
am very much an amateur guitar player but was very pleased with this guitar. It has been easy to play and has a great sound. Cought it on sale so was twice as pleased with it.
Hopefully my fingers will toughen up again quickly so I can really enjoy it.
