I'm on my second ebony pinstripe head and they are just amazing. My heads normally last a year because I put a falam patch on them and I also set it up with metal washers so that the beaters hit them. It's the best way to get a really good sound from your bass drum without having to use triggers. I recommend the EPS heads to anyone who needs a good solid head that will last long and give great sound.

I bought this head and paired it with a stock Tama reso head and already knew I did not like this head at all. I had to tune it way down to almost no tension to get a reasonable sound plus I had to stuff my bass drum with tons of pillows and junk. Any sustain I could get had a lot of bad overtones. If you want a slappy bass drum sound with no sustain and a lot of muffling, then get this head. If you want a low fundamental, good sustain, and built in muffling, go for the powersonic, powerstroke, EMAD/GMAD, or superkick/impact.

This drum head came on my used yamaha stage custom. I've had it for a year, and who knows how long it had been on there before that. I have another bass drum as well, so I don't play with 2 beaters on it, but I still play fast double bass, and I play fairly hard. No problems with it breaking. I do not like remo normally, but I do like this drum head. I may buy it again in the future.
Comments about Remo Ebony Series Pinstripe Bass Drumhead:
its a good head just have to know how to tune it to get right sound.
Comments about Remo Ebony Series Pinstripe Bass Drumhead:
Well, the heads that came with my Joey Jordison kit just gave (less than 2 months), and I remembered I had these on my old kit as Res. heads, the sound is fairly decent....all depends on the tuning kids, I keep mine loose and these deliver a nice lil' punch, but for the money get the Aquarians with the snap-on plate.
Comments about Remo Ebony Series Pinstripe Bass Drumhead:
I bought 2 of these for my 2 bass drums. One started to crack in the center, after a month. then when it gave about a week latter.. the other one started to crack. It took about 10 phone calls, and 20 E-mails to get them replaced. I still havent used the new one, and will not. I wanted my money back. Im a Evans man now.

I've used this head for nearing a year before it burst. I didn't expect it to last as long as it did (I play pretty hard). There is a difference in the sound of my left and right pedals; I use a double bass pedal. It sounds great though.
Comments about Remo Ebony Series Pinstripe Bass Drumhead:
This bass drum head gets a great sound when tuned well.
Comments about Remo Ebony Series Pinstripe Bass Drumhead:
from remo to aquarian to evans, and then back to remo...no need to say much else.if you are looking for a resilient, long lasting head that sounds great until you are ready to change it, then this is the bass head for you.i have ebony pinstripes all the way around on my 5-piece.
Comments about Remo Ebony Series Pinstripe Bass Drumhead:
It lasts great, it has a great quality and it is really cheap for such a well known brand.
