The NS Electric Traditional Bass D String is designed for electric upright basses with standard playing lengths, but shorter overall lengths (no tailpiece).
All D'Addario strings are designed, engineered and manufactured in the USA to the most stringent quality controls in the industry.

Comments about D'Addario NS Electric Traditional Bass D String:
My NS Design 5 string bass took a tumble on stage, but fortunately fell face down and only damaged the "D" string. I assumed, that the strings on it were the traditional and ordered accordingly. Well, as I was changing the damaged string, it was apparent that the bass had been strung with the Contemporary strings rather than the Traditional. I've never been really satisfied with the sound of the bass as it sounds more like a fretless bass guitar and not an upright. The Traditional strings are the ticket. Now I'm going to purchase 4 more to match the Traditional as they sound more like an upright bass. Glad I made the mistake.
