Condenser-quality sound with no loss of level when you turn your head.

The AKG C520L is a headset condenser microphone with maximum dynamic range for perfect vocal sound. Its cardioid polar pattern effectively rejects unwanted ambient noise. An ideal choice for frontmen, singing keyboardists, drummers, guitarists, and dancers. The microphone arm mounts either on the left or right side of the headband as desired. The C 520 L provides the perfect solution for any performer needing a handsfree microphone.

A transducer shock mount reduces handling noise to a minimum. The moisture shield prevents perspiration from penetrating into the transducer element, ensuring a high degree of humidity protection for the microphone.

Can be used with the AKG B 29 L battery power supply, AKG WMS Series bodypack transmitters, or the MPA V L adapter for external phantom powering (Not included). Important! Using any power supply other than those recommended by AKG may damage your microphone and will void the warranty.

Consumer Alert:

Most users do not need a license to operate this wireless microphone system. Nevertheless, operating this microphone system without a license is subject to certain restrictions: the system may not cause harmful interference; it must operate at a low power level (not in excess of 50 milliwatts); and it has no protection from interference received from any other device. Purchasers should also be aware that the FCC is currently evaluating use of wireless microphone systems, and these rules are subject to change. For more information, call the FCC at 1-888-CALL-FCC (TTY: 1-888-TELL-FCC) or visit the FCCs wireless microphone website at: www.fcc.gov/cgb/wirelessmicrophones.

Features

  • Head-worn microphone with continuously adjustable behind-the-neck headband

If you're an energetic performer, a headworn condenser is the way to go.

REVIEW OF C 520 L HEADWORN CONDENSER MICROPHONE

By DON WOOLDRIDGE

from Missouri

Comments about AKG C 520 L Headworn Condenser Microphone:

This is the third(3rd) one that I purchased. We've have been using the first two for approximately three years and we are very happy with their pickup of our voices and their duriability. I would rate it a 10 except for the battery power supply B29L( which you do not sell) has a mic on/off switch and line switch that are very hard to determine which one you are switching without removing from one's person .

this unit has very low gain

Comments about AKG C 520 L Headworn Condenser Microphone:

.
I bought this unit to replace an AKG C444 headset that worked fine but didn't fit or stay in place well. The AKG website said the C520 would work fine with the standard AKG transmitter. Problem is it had almost no gain at all. I sent the unit to AKG and they admitted that the C520 is a very low gain headset. They exchanged it for a C555, which works much better. I lost some money in the process but big thanks to AKG for getting me a mic I can use.

Check the output gain specs on both before you choose one. I don't see how the C520 can be useable with the standard AKG wireless transmitter pack. My guess is it is intended for use with phantom power only, but the specs don't indicate that.
Pretty expensive for a headset with no gain.
