Complex harmonics and rich sound for vocals.

The Aston Origin is a high-performance cardioid condenser utilizing a 1 in. gold-evaporated capsule. Its hand-selected capsule is teamed with high-end transformerless circuitry using only the best components, the same ones you’ll find in boutique microphones costing far more. Origin is versatile enough to use with most instruments and excels on acoustic guitar and vocals.

Wave-Form Mesh Head
The Origin features Aston’s signature waveform mesh head. This unique design delivers an unprecedented degree of protection for the mic capsule. Its shock-resistant waveform design allows the head of the mic to bend upon impact, and then return to its normal position without any damage to the capsule itself. It also offers a degree of off-axis rejection, helping to eliminate unwanted artifacts from your recordings.

Built-In Pop Filter
Aston’s vocal condenser microphones have an exclusive mesh-knit pop filter built into the waveform head. The random weave allows sound to pass while virtually eliminating unwanted plosives at the source. It also shields against multiple wavelengths of electromagnetic radiation, making it ideal in sensitive electronic applications. This completely encapsulating, single piece, mesh cage is formed in stainless steel, so won’t rust with use, and can even be removed and washed.

End Caps
Yet another unique design element of the Aston Origin is the use of custom-molded end caps with integrated XLR and stand adaptor. Because the internal shock absorption system is so good, you can mount the microphone directly to a stand via this built-in, interchangeable thread adapter. The design also makes Aston microphones easy to repair and maintain.

Part of the four hours to give it a very hard-wearing, and extremely beautiful, finish. To perfect the look, each microphone is separately engraved with its legends, and the Aston brand mantra, “The art of performance.”

Comments about Aston Microphones Origin Cardioid Condenser Microphone:

If I had to describe the sound of this mic it would be close to a U87 which cost over 3000 and is a industry standard. It has many of the same characteristics but in blind test the Orgin beats it every time. If you think oh it can't be that good for only 250 you would be wrong. Like I said they could sell this easy for a grand and you would still say it was a good deal. To say it is well built is a understatement. I have yet seen a Mic built as robust as the Orgin. Ok maybe the RE20 but you get the idea. You will be very happy with this mic

Comments about Aston Microphones Origin Cardioid Condenser Microphone:

Ordered this mic a month ago. Didn't work. No signal whatsoever. Tried everything. Exchanged it. Still no signal. Tried it with three different preamp interfaces—all of which had 48 volt phantom power. Nothing. With an additional phantom supply was just barely able to get a signal on the second mic with the gain cranked to the point of getting additional noise . . . The first mic I was told it may've been damaged in shipping. Second mic Musicina;s Friend suggested Aston must've been a bad batch of parts . . . Very disappointing.

Comments about Aston Microphones Origin Cardioid Condenser Microphone:

I know some people have had trouble with the mic, but I personally have had a great experience with it so far. This mic sounds amazing! It has a clear, natural sound. It has fairly heavy focus on the treble, but it doesn't overtake the other frequencies. This mic is also built incredibly well. It really feels like it's going to last a long time. As far as its features go, I think its highpass filter might be a little bit harsh for some applications, but I think you could use it for vocals and acoustic guitar and get pretty good results. Also, it does have a built-in popfilter, but I don't think it does a good enough job on its own. I would advise using another one as well. Doesn't have to be expensive.

Overall, this mic is amazing. Especially for the price. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a good mic for music, voiceover, and other tasks of similar nature. Great mic!
