Useless microphone

By Gian Carlo

from Panama, Panama

About Me Professional Musician

Pros

  • Lightweight

Cons

  • Limited Functions
  • Unreliable

Best Uses

  • No Serious Use At All

Comments about Audio-Technica AT8035 Shotgun Microphone:

This Microphone can't be used in any serious recording, I bought it and now I'm returning it, luckily Musician Friend has a very good costumer services and they are returning me a credit of 90% of the money that I spent on this one, making the story short this microphone has very little output gain and a very high self noise, that means that when you record something it has a very low volume so in post production you have to rise this volume a lot but since this microphone has a very high noise floor when yo rise the volume you are rising the noise (or hissss) too, resulting in a very very bad recording, the noise is so persistent that not even with waves x or z noise can be removed, belive me I use those plugins a lot and know haw to use them.

The mic has a very beautifull sound, punchy, clear, but what is the point to release a great sounding mic into the market if you are going to mess it up with that anoying hisssss noise??? that makes it useless even for amateurs.

AT8035 SHOTGUN MIC USED TO MIC CHURCH CHOIR

By JAMES ARTHUR

from WEST VIRGINIA

Comments about Audio-Technica AT8035 Shotgun Microphone:

CHURCH DIDN'T WANT MICS HANGING DOWN FROM CEILING LIKE I USUALLY USE. PLACED IN FRONT OF CHANDOLIER AND IS FAIRLY UN-NOTICEABLE. 18' CEILING, 15' FROM CHOIR.
DID GREAT JOB W/O ANY FEEDBACK PROBLEMS. I'M HAPPY CUSTOMER BECAUSE MY CUSTOMER IS HAPPY!
