Comments about Audix ADX51 Cardioid Condenser Microphone:

I bought a pair of these mics for use in my home project studio and they really do a great job of capturing "the" sound you are after. I have used them in:-Standard overhead and 'XY' placement for cymbals-'Recorderman' setup (with an Audix D6 on the kick)-Piano....all of them sound simply fantastic with zero(0) eq or compression during recording.GET THIS MIC... you will not be sorry at this price!

Comments about Audix ADX51 Cardioid Condenser Microphone:

So you probably won't believe me when I say that I sold my mojave 101fets and my Neumann km184 pairs and only kept a pair of the audix adx51 for my home studio drum overheads. I didn't purchase these because of how inexpensive they were but rather because I bought a mic kit from audix that came with these. I purchased the audix mic kit to keep as a backup To my existing audix mics that I used everyday for recording. I was primarily using km184 overheads but thought I'd give the audix adx51 overheads a try. I couldn't believe how detailed they were, how warm they sounded and how close they sounded to my expensive overheads! I was floored. You will hear people say that these sound harsh but I disagree. They have a lot of top end clarity like most great sdc mics but they are definitely not harsh. I also found them to be way less boomy in the bottom end over my Mojave 101 fets. The bottom line is that for what these cost, I feel they simply can not be beat and may ever compete with mics that cost twice as much. I should know. I have had many sets that cost twice as much...I sold them all!
