Designed for home-studio owners and musicians.

The Behringer B-1 Large-Diaphragm Cardioid Condenser Mic employs a 1" capsule to capture sound with incredible realism and sensitivity. Its wide frequency response from 20Hz-20kHz is enhanced by a pronounced presence boost, making EQing unnecessary in many cases. The cardioid polar pattern, switchable high-pass filter, -10dB pad, 148dB SPL capability, and low self-noise make it perfect for close miking. Requires 48V phantom power. The Behringer B-1 Mic includes a carrying case, shock mount, and windscreen.

The B1 isn't the bomber but it is the bomb

I have used the B1 in my studio for about 4 years now and it has been absolutely trouble free.  I have some very expensive mics and some inexpensive ones as well.  In my opinion, it performs well in comparison to some mics I own which cost 3 or 4 time as much.  Not to be confused with Neuman or Blue, but still a GREAT value for the bucks.

Best condenser mic for the money

I was looking for a condenser mic to do vocal recording (and to experiment with some multi-mic recording of my guitar amp). I fully expected to pay $250 for a low-end mic, and when I found the B-1 I was a bit skeptical at first. I do own some other products from Behringer, and I'm happy with them, so I rolled the dice, and boy am I ever glad I did. The clarity of this thing is phenomenal. It is extremely well constructed, comes with a rock solid shock mount, a removeable wind screen, and a really nice carrying case. For vocals, I could literally whisper into this thing and not get lost in the mix. For my amp (a Fender DeVille Deluxe with a Gibson SG guitar) I miked it about a foot from the front, off center, and the attack was just great. I will never go back to shoving an SM57 into the grill cloth again, those days are over. If you're on the fence, I suggest you buy this mic and try it. You will probably be just as amazed as I am.

Solid Mic/Low Price

I bought this while setting up a low cost home studio.  I haven't managed to get an interface/mixer yet, so right now I'm running this and two other condensors into a mixer amp and straight into the computer.  I only say this because it means I'm not using this mic to it's full potential-and it's still turning out great.  vocals are very crisp, and there doesn't seem to be much background noise.  Just don't do what I did and forget to buy a phantom power source.

A friend of mine brought this mic over last night for some test recording and I was blown away by the sound quality produced. A deep, warm lower tonal quality that instantly made me want to purchase it. We only used it to record vocals which was impressive enough, but I can't imagine how well an acoustic guitar would sound with this bad boy on the receiving end. I noticed an immediate boost in the high end and mid range and being able to roll off bass frequencies if need be at the touch of a switch is a great feature. This mic feels built Ram tough as it's no light weight. The case, shockmount and pop filter are all excellent quality as well. If I didn't already have a couple of condensers, this one would be on my immediate purchase list due to the sound, quality, price and excellent extras (case etc). I only knocked off half a point on each for realism. Let's be honest; you will notice a diff if buying a super high end condenser, but for most of us that's not an option. Let's just say this versatile mic is your option!
