It offers 4 concurrently selectable EQ modules: 31-band graphic, 10-band parametric, Feedback Destroyer, and 3 dynamic EQs per channel. Other highlights are the 61-band RTA that can run simultaneously with the EQ section, high-quality 24-bit/96kHz A/D/A converters, and 2 high-performance 32/40-bit floating-point SHARC digital signal processors which yield ultimate sonic resolution and 113dB dynamic range. Multifunction level meters, 64 user memories, RTA mic/line input with phantom power, word clock input, and MIDI connections. Balanced inputs, servo-balanced outputs with gold-plated XLR connectors, stereo aux output, and AES/EBU and S/PDIF I/Os (XLR and optical).

Great Concept, but...

When these things work, you get features that you can't get in another EQ that's X10 the price.  Unfortunately, this is the 3rd one I've gone through in 5 years. I'm using this in a studio to balance the system to the room.  The first one, the right channel gave out.  The other two have had the left channel give out. I'm not pushing them hard and I'm not running them hot.  They are racked (and never moved once in place) with conditioned power running to them.

I really like the usefulness, sound quality, and low noise of this device. It's Auto-EQ function solved some major issues for my studio. But I've noticed a trend in each of the digital Behringer units that I've owned. They crash frequently until you unplug all the internal connections and clean and reseat them. I spray them with Caig D5 Deoxit and have not had any repeat issues. If you're technical enough to do this, Behringer gear is reliable and cost effective.

I cant really agree with the other comments below. I have been using more than 10 DEQ's in fixed installations and they have been performing flawlessly over the last three years. In fact I am about to order another 4 units for a new project. This DEQ is really good and there is nothing out there that comes close in terms of performance and features. This is a fine unit and I can only say well done Behringer.

The Behringer DEQ2496 is exactly what I like in a system processor with the Parametric and Graphic EQ. But it suffers in quality. The internal chips run far too hot and I get crashes that require a power down reset. Somewhere, Behringer decided to save a few dollars in the power supply or heat sinking which makes the unit unreliable.

I recently installed several of these units as monitor processing. They work great, loaded with functions. One of the few products that redeems behringer. Have had no "clicks" or "pops" like others state, no issues what so ever.
