I am pleasantly surprised with this DI box. The only fault I have with it is the fact that you have to keep 9 volt batteries handy. Batteries do seem to have a long life in this thing, but it would be much nicer if you could just plug this thing in with a standard 9 volt barrel plug (like effects pedals). Most importantly it really does sound pretty good. I'm using mine with a Fender champion 600. Out of the amplifier's output to the Behringer DI, out of the DI to internal speaker (speaker level through the DI) and out of the XLR on the DI straight to the board. The only thing that is keeping the little Fender Champion 600's from creating massive tone is the small speaker and this solves that issue in a very big way. The sound I get is huge, warm, glassy, and very clear note definition. And my stage rig is unbelievably small now. It all fits very easily in the trunk of my car, and that's including 2 guitars. I recommend this DI for every guitar player.

I come from a rock background, and only ever used DI boxes in the studio. Recently I've started playing gigs with DJs - yes gone over to the dark side! - as well as electro bands who use programmed sequences. Using a traditional amp-and-guitar setup in such situations is less than ideal I've found. The guitar just doesn't sit in the mix right that way. So I thought I'd try running direct through the PA so that all the channels could be mixed from the board. Yes you could do this by miking the amp but it crossed my mind that if i was just going to go through the PA that way I might as well give a DI box. So I shopped around, and bought this one because it was cheap. What a pleasant surprise, this thing sounds great and as other reviewers have mentioned, the cab sim is far better than any I've tried in regular multi-fx processors. I also have a Digitech RP1000 I can go direct to the board with, and get an infinite number of sounds with. I like it but it's a bit of a beast to and I find it's easier, and sounds better, just to run a small lineup of pedals in front of the UltraG. I'm getting really fat tones using this in combination with an MXR carbon copy analog delay,  Route 66 comp/OD, and an RMC Picture Wah. I might add a Whammy and/or auto-wah to get more electro-compatible sounds soon. With this thing, my amps are just gathering dust now.

I have three of these things, and they work well.  We use them in our church and small venues where amps would overload the room.  Feedback and balance issues went away when we started using the DI Boxes.  They have been in use for several years, with no problem.  Battery life is very good.  The cab simulation is probably not going to suit some, but again, I think it works well for what we do.

on features I scored it a little low because I wish it had a 1/4in. out as well on Quality I scored it very low because it was absolute Crap build quality! Clearly made in China on Value I scored it High because it is the cheapest Cab Sim on the market! I use it inline with my RealTube preamp and pedals. My monitor accepts mic cable input so it worked out great as a Cab Sim only box. It really sounds great, and does so without the digi-fizz that comes with digital cab modelers. It kicks my Vox Tonelab ST in the pants on cab modeling and that is all I use it for

This thing works great. Just as advertised. I tried mine out yesterday in a worst case scenario (inexperienced P.A. set up) And it performed perfectly. I had no issues with hum as others have stated. I would suspect that issue is in their signal chain (use the ground lift to check)I fed mine the signal straight from the pre-amp and it was whisper quiet. If you are feeding it from a power amp that may be your problem as well. The cab sim works great for overdrive & distortions but I could tell little difference in the clean signals. This thing is very transparent! The 2-20db pads are perfect for taming the signal! Build quality seems to be pretty good but I dont think I would want to drop it. (sent back the first one it had parts rattling around in it) I cant wait to try this on our own PA system and see how it performs. I may be eliminating my big 412cab and power amp! I am at this moment buying another one so I can run stereo! So easy to do without having to mic it up eh? R.I.P SM57? Every band should have a few of these kicking around just as back-ups if nothing else.   Tip: to eliminate hum from your entire P.A. try to run all power to the board and power amps (guitars & basses as well) of the same circuit using power conditioners or use your ground lifts!
