      Exceptional-quality professional studio headphones.

Beyerdynamic DT 990 PRO open dynamic headphones are suitable for the most demanding professional and audiophile applications. The reduced weight of the diaphragm and moving coil result in a similar pulse characteristic as electrostatic headphones and, in combination with a carefully tailored frequency response, offer a natural and balanced sound.

Soft ear pads and adjustable, sliding earpieces together with a very flexible coiled cable ensure that DT 990 headphones give you listening comfort during extended periods of use.

Comments about Beyerdynamic DT 990 PRO Open Studio Headphones 250 Ohms:

I bought these for critical listening when mixing and mastering in my home studio. They are much more detailed than my ATH-M30's and more detailed than my Sennheisser HD 280 Pro headphones, as to be expected. With their open back, they have a fantastically better soundstage than both of the others and also the semi-open AKG K240's (I took back for the HD-280's). They do have more precision than the AKG too, which were good but a pain in general to me. The Dt-990 pro does hurt my ears a little in the high freq. sometimes, but I figured that this could only work to my advantage in the long run.
Although I mainly bought these for more critical listening purposes when using headphones, I sometimes use these when I want to listen to anything with headphones and be able to notice what's going around me more easily.
They are comfortable to my average sized head and to my listening mind and in many ways have been a dream to use!!! Very nice product.

Comments about Beyerdynamic DT 990 PRO Open Studio Headphones 250 Ohms:

Great soundstage, almost no distortion, and excellent frequency response make these cans a must-have for their price range. They are open-back design so there is no sound isolation, but this is by design. If you are looking for headphones to wear outside of the home or studio you may want to look elswhere. Also these cans are rated at 250 Ohms so you may need a headphone amp to drive these depending on your source. Other than that it is hard to beat these cans for price - performance ratio.

In conclusion, these are outstanding cans that reproduce sound very well and should be in any musical application arsenal.

Comments about Beyerdynamic DT 990 PRO Open Studio Headphones 250 Ohms:

I also own the DT770 PRO 80 and the 990 is very similar more bass & treble with the sound advantages of an open headphone . The 990's are awesome, I use them for enjoying music mostly.

These REQUIRE an amp basically, and if you still have good (sensitive) hearing in the higher frequencies than you will probably find the treble painful.

For example I have to turn the treble all the way down on my (consumer/home audio) amp just to be comfortable (even after cutting the treble it's still clear as a bell).
