      Essential connectivity for your studio!

Patchbays often go unappreciated until their contacts get rusty or you need just a few more connections. The dbx PB-48 48-point Patchbay takes care of both problems with the greatest of ease. This balanced DBX 1/4" TRS patchbay has 48 easy-to-reach jacks in the front and rear—96 points in all. Each of its 24-card assemblies has 4 jacks and thumbscrews so switching from normalled to non-normalled positions is easy. Pure nickel silver self-cleaning contacts won't get funky and waste your connections. The patchbay uses one rackspace. You'll appreciate its dependability and the price!

      Comments about dbx PB-48 48-Point 1/4" Patchbay:

This unit works great if the user plugs the cables into the rear correctly....lol! Once I got my part of it fixed it works great. Easy to change from normalized to de-normalized. However, if you do not tighten the nut the modules can fall down, so my suggestion is to install it upside down to fix the problem. dbx should really label it the other way and do it that way so this problem didn't happen.

      Typical DBX quality!

      Comments about dbx PB-48 48-Point 1/4" Patchbay:

I like the scribble strip rows on the front. Although I don't use pencil or marker on them, I use a Brother P-Touch and then cut the labels down to size. I'd still like to see front panel programming as an option, although the price would change. The units aren't very deep, so you do need to be careful where you install them in your rack. If you install them between two other units that are fairly deep, it will be impossible to get your fingers in far enough to make/break connections. Other than that, these are nice patchbays and do exactly what you need - patch signals into your mixer or whatever you have.
      ...And that's a good thing.

I currently have two of these in my small home studio rack. For the price, you really can't beat the performance of these patchbays. The only improvement DBX could add on these is to make them similar to the Bantam/TT bays, which can be programmed from the front with a screw driver. I've had to take mine out of the rack a few times to change sections from Normal to Denormal, which is a pain, but something you may occasionally have to do. Other than that, no complaints and I'll soon be adding a third PB-48 to my rack. I gave this unit a 9 due to the fact it must be removed from the rack to change its configuration.
Excellent quality. I frequently change the configuration of my components, so cable swaps on the front occur a lot. Absolutely no issues with the modules going bad or becoming noisy/intermittent. These patchbays are solid performers.
For what it is and what you get, the value is fairly decent. Considering other patchbays are in this price range, I'd prefer the DBX over them.

      It's a patchbay...

      Comments about dbx PB-48 48-Point 1/4" Patchbay:

Incedible quality for a TRS patchbay. Not the primary patch bay in my home studio, as an AVP bantam patchbay provides twice as many connections in the same space, but you don't have much to hook up, or have plenty of space, this price is more appealing.
