OVERVIEW

A passive version of the popular SRM350.

The passive Mackie C200 speaker contains a 10" high-efficiency woofer and 2" voice coil that deliver a wide 59Hz-22kHz frequency range. The C200 speaker's 1-2/5" compression driver is mounted on a waveguide that creates a wide 90° x 80° dispersion. The Mackie C200 has a 500W peak handling at 8 ohms.

The Mackie C200 speaker is also flyable, tiltable, and pole-mountable. The C200 delivers optimum performance in portable PA, stage monitor, and permanent/flown applications. The Mackie speaker's rugged, injection-molded composite cabinet makes it a solid performer on the road, and its unique shape prevents unwanted vibrations and standing waves from forming inside the speaker cab, while making it perfect as a side, tilt-back stage monitor. Other features include precision transducer components, unique Low-Impedance Compensated Crossover design, and wide dispersion to assure every audience member has a great seat.

Precision Tuned by the Speaker Brains at EAW
Mackie's C Series passive loudspeakers represent Mackie's first lightweight passive speakers tuned exclusively by the EAW loudspeaker engineering team-a team with more than 25 years of high-output loudspeaker expertise, having created loudspeaker systems for critical applications as diverse as the Super Bowl, Iron Maiden, and the Pope. Although loudspeakers for these mega-systems cost exponentially more than the stalwart C200, many of the same concepts have been applied, namely: designing custom 10" LF drivers with a frequency range from 59Hz-3000Hz and a 2" voice coil that can take a pounding. It also has a 1.4" high-frequency titanium driver and horn providing a wide, controlled dispersion pattern, and precise reproduction of the critical 1000Hz-20,000Hz upper mid-range and high frequencies.

Crossovers Tuned to Perfection
Tuning a crossover (i.e. voicing a system), involves dozens of critical decisions that many manufacturers overlook. In the end, it is all about balancing the design so that you get the best subjective results from the speaker while maintaining a good technical implementation. The crossover in the C Series is a unique Low Impedance Compensated Crossover (LICC) design with an asymmetrical slope. With EQ and crossover points meticulously chosen so that beam-width patterns match in both drivers, C Series loudspeakers offer natural sound at all volume levels.

Ultra-Wide Dispersion
Ever been to a show where the music sounds great in front, but craps out once you get to the back or sides of the room? The Mackie C200 was given a multi-cell horn throat aperture to avoid that situation. Sure, it's hard to say, but what it does is allow for much wider and more even dispersion of high and mid frequencies-so the wallflowers get the same great listening experience as those up front.

Better Than Your Average Box
Anyone with a factory can build a box and stick some speakers in it (and that's just what many do). But low-frequency transducers in square boxes can create resonances that reflect off the rear wall and pass through the woofer cone out of phase, and ready to mess up your sound. The C200 enclosure is an asymmetrical monocoque design with no parallel surfaces, causing mid- and high-frequency resonances to be reflected at angles into internal damping materials, instead of interfering with the woofer doing its thing.

Superb Floor Monitor
A good floor monitor plays loudly without generating feedback through vocal microphones. A poor floor monitor, on the other hand, will generate feedback just about the time you turn it up to a useable level. Floor monitor feedback is often caused by uneven frequency response and dispersion; some frequencies arrive at the microphone much louder than others. These spikes are what trigger feedback as the floor monitor volume is increased. The Mackie C200 speaker has incredibly smooth, spike-free response and dispersion over a wide range of treble frequencies. So you can increase its volume without boosting those nasty, feedback-inducing spikes.

Comments about Mackie C200 Passive Speaker (Black):

I bought 2 of these..tired of moving my larger and heavier Yamaha BR 15's...I am very impressed with the C200's...very clear sound...decent bass, but excellent mid and highs..they really cleaned up the BR 15's sound when combined with the Yamahas for a larger job I just did...going to use them for small to med jobs..SO EASY TO MOVE!!!..haven't had them long enough to give a durability rating though.

Comments about Mackie C200 Passive Speaker (Black):

Beat any other 10" speaker we have used. The sound is unreal with the clarity for which Mackie is known for. Speakers were bought to use a stage monitors which they work perfect for. but the speakers can be pole mounted and I am sure they would make very good FOH speakers for mid size gigs. I like the "Thru" output on these speakers so if you want you can chain them together to clean up the look of your setup. Also love the way we can bring the speakers very close to the stage and still get the sound up high were you want it with the sharp wedge angle these speakers have. Overall very happy with these speakers. After the first practice the guys in the group fell in love with them .
These speakers have all the features we were looking for in a new stage monitor setup. Lots of speakers we have used had a somewhat wedge type stance on their side. But they seemed to throw more sound towards your feet instead up high where you needed it. But the these mackies had a much upward angled wedge design which was perfect to bring speaker closer to the stage for easy hearing and feedback free performance.
Quality is spot on. another great looking product from Mackie
No better speaker for the sound quality and features offered in the Mackie c200.

Comments about Mackie C200 Passive Speaker (Black):

I bought this to use as a monitor with two EVsx300 12" speakers. Surprisingly, the bass is a little too much in this speaker. Slight EQ is needed to bring in balance, and then it works well. This speaker sounds good but does not throw that far or have a heavy bite in the top end compared to the EVs. The EV horns are far superior but cost almost 3 times as much. Good value for what you get.

Comments about Mackie C200 Passive Speaker (Black):

When I got this speaker I knew from what I heard that they were good for the price. Little did I know they are great for the price! I have yet to hear a better one for the price! They are All I need to cover buildings with 500-1000 people (depending on the acoustics, I mainly use them in churches) I am prepring to purchase another pair so I can use two on each side and I don't doubt they'll do the job! Please keep price in mind, there are speakers this size that will do a better job, they just cost much more, and sometimes more than it's worth for the difference.

Comments about Mackie C200 Passive Speaker (Black):

Bought 2 to uses as a small monitor rig. When I pulled them out the box and hooked them up to a Crown XLS202 I was amazed at the sound they made! Now I'm getting more and using them as a full rig! The nice thing about them is not only do they sound good but they are made good so they can take a lot of abuses! They are also Flyable making them a ideal rig. I am very satisfied with this product as well as Musician's Friends Customer Service!

Comments about Mackie C200 Passive Speaker (Black):

I have bought a total of four of these now. We are using them for floor monitors at church (full band with drums). These rascals will surprise you. They make excellent monitors as they have a tight mid-range punch, smooth highs, and ample bottom end - especially well suited for stage. Small footprint, speakon & 1/4" connectors, lightweight, durable enclosure, and jet black. Perfect for our application, giving us four individual monitor mixes. I plan on getting at least one more.

Also a plus, they are not prone to feedback, even at pretty loud levels.

Comments about Mackie C200 Passive Speaker (Black):

I finally got tired of hauling my big 15" speakers to gigs. These are half the weight and provide really great sound... really more crisp sound than the big speakers. I bought 3 so I can use one for a monitor. I like the angle of the monitor. It points up better so it can be used in close quarters. Someone else had mentioned that the hole did not fit their stands. They fit mine perfectly 1 1/2'" diameter. We use this for an acoustic duo with guitar, fiddle, mandolin, whistle and vocals. Plenty of bottom and great presence, Its all we need and my back feels much better.

Wow, these things are great. The clarity of sound on vocals was wonderful. As the person who hauls around the PA I was looking for something lighter and more compact than my current set-up. Coupled with a powered subwoofer these exceeded my expectations. We received compliments on our sound from folks who have seen us numerous times. Very Happy!

I bought these speakers 6 months ago to replace a 42lb pair of speakers that sounded great but were bothering my shoulder when I hoisted them onto tripods. I'd heard great things about these babies but was pleasantly surprised at how crisp, defined and deep these speakers reproduced sound. I use them as a single, duo and trio. Great for rooms of 150 and under.

This is my second set of C200s. I bought the first set used and I like them so much that I bought a new set to have back ups or for monitors. These speakers work great for small or medium rooms, especially for vocals and acoustic guitar. I use them in solo, duo and 4 piece band applications. They're clear, plenty of bottom for male vocals and guitar and they're light and small.
