Comments about Nady MM-14FX Mini Line Mixer with Effects:
I purchased this as a new item, but the item that arrived was clearly used. I had to look close but there were small scuffs and dings on the case and knobs. if you have purchased new gear for more than a few years, you know what 'brand new' looks and smells like. someone had opened the box and had this thing out. AND WHEN I WROTE TO MUSICIANS FRIEND ABOUT IT THEY NEVER ANSWERED ME. guess that means....i didn't spend enough to matter? i should shop elsewhere?

First one sent was defective. They got the 2nd one to me in a week, after mailing me the return authorization. Works like a charm. Love the echo control, and the fact it's battery powered.

Comments about Nady MM-14FX Mini Line Mixer with Effects:
This little mixer is quiet, the pots are pretty smooth, and the effects are surprisingly good for the money. The only real problem is that the thing is so small and light that the mic cables want to pull it off the table. I solved this problem by attaching four neodymium magnets to the base, as feet, and placing the mixer on top of the power amp. Now it won't budge.

I use this unit before input to my computer to give extra boost and effects when playing NAF type flute on webcam blog. I also use it before a Street Cube to give extra boost to effects.
Well built. The added feature of being able to slip the battery door in and out to change the battery is a new plus on the model. Be cautious when using an AC power supply that you get the polarity right. The light will fool you when on battery...it will be lit, but there might not be enough power to drive the audio. It will not pass sound, and you will have to have an extra battery on hand for a gig.
Should ;you use an AC power supply, it is better to get one that you know will not introduce a hum. There are several really good units that work for guitar stomp boards. The MM-14FX is a great buy for what it does. This gives you 4 channels of mono. But, gives you 50db gain. The other unit MM-242 is 8 channels and does stereo or mono. and no FX ..and you only get 25 db gain. (and you have to take it apart to change the battery) Get an extra ...one for the desk for practice, and one for the road.

This is a great compact mixer! Light as a feather and great sound! I like the fact that it runs on battery power as well as AC. The reverb is more of a delay, but still sounds good. Highly recommended if you are looking for a small portable mixer!
Comments about Nady MM-14FX Mini Line Mixer with Effects:
Im using this mixer with my Behringer EUROLIVE B208D Active PA Speaker. Connecting it with a Monster Cable Standard S-100 1/4 - 1/4 Speaker Cable Regular 6 Foot. Im getting a crackling sound that seems to be due to there being instruments and or mics plugged into any of the 4 mixer inputs. Not sure why im hearing the crackle but will try a new battery and power source to see if that helps. Besides for this problem, the price is cheap and the product worthy.
Comments about Nady MM-14FX Mini Line Mixer with Effects:
I decided on this mixer because it was small and enough for the recording sessions I do. I can add depth with the echo effects. I like my studio room with a slight echo environment for vocal fun. Downfalls:This is not a stereo mixer-Does not have phantom power or additional gainI did have one unit previously sent back since the power went out almost immediately after plugging it in with correct voltage adapter. Now I use the 9volt battery case. The sound result is full and powerful.
Comments about Nady MM-14FX Mini Line Mixer with Effects:
I was very enthused to receive this little mixer since I had something larger and unnecessary for the recordings I do. However I plugged it in, it lit up once and didn't again, not to mention no mic signal whatsoever. I will be returning this item for a new one however I now have my doubts about the product.
Comments about Nady MM-14FX Mini Line Mixer with Effects:
I'm just an amateur perform-at-home guy who wanted to set up a little home studio and p.a. on the cheap. I didn't need a lot of power - just volume equivalent to what I get out of my home stereo.I had purchased a Line-6 Spider Micro to play with my guitar in part because I thought I could use it for vocals as well as guitar as it has a mic in jack (plus its portable). That worked ok, but it was a little weak on the vocals side. Plus, I wanted to be able to use two mics; and the Micro's mic output was dry, with no effects. The Nady seemed like a solution for what I wanted; I could mix in a couple mics and it had some echo effects to add a little depth. for this price --what the heck. After buying the unit, I am very pleased. It does what it promises. I can mix in multiple mics and the digital echo effects add depth to the vocals, which work well. I'm running the mixer off a 9 volt battery, and it is clean.Even more of a bonus, the Nady significantly increases the db output (50 db, it claims) level of the line. When the straight mic input was set so low you could barely hear it, running it thru the Nady resulted in an output so loud I had to turn it down.So then I thought about running it through my stereo. I have a little 90 watt home theater surround system with pretty dinky speakers and a subwoofer, but it's loud enough for our apartment. When I had plugged the mic straight into the aux-in RCA jack (with an adapter), the output was so low that I could barely hear it even at full volume. Something to do, I think, with the impedance of the mic or something like that, I don?t know I'm not a techie. I figured I'd have to buy a pre-amp to use a mic with the stereo system. So I ran the output from the Nady mixer thru an RCA splitter and plugged it into my home stereo receiver. With the Nady, output was as loud as it could get without feedback (turned about halfway up) -- more than sufficient for my little home pa needs. I'm no expert in pa systems, but it sounded pretty good to me (and my girlfriend). I suspect that with a powerful home stereo system you could use the Nady to make a pretty decent pa out of it.I also plugged my electric guitar into one of the mixer input jacks just to see what would happen, and got a more than adequate output level though my home stereo receiver, and again, the quality seems pretty good to me. How can I describe the volume? I could use vocals and the guitar as loud as, for example, music plays thru the system without distortion. In fact, in retrospect I might have saved on the amp, and bought an effects pedal like the Digitech RP50 and run my guitar thru this little mixer and thru my stereo system, and had plenty of volume for my needs. Maybe too much distortion would blow the speakers, I don?t know. In short, this little mixer has effectively turned my home theater stereo receiver into a more than adequate pa system complete with echo effects. Very happy for the money spent.
