Hi-fi sound, DJ-optimized frequency response with the comfort of memory-foam padding.

Pioneer HDJ-2000 Pro DJ Headphones are designed to enhance Pioneer's HDJ series. They're sleekly designed, top-flight headphones that encorporate inovations for higher levels of sound quality, comfort, and durability.

First up, the HDJ-2000 headphones' high-quality frequency response is optimized for pro DJ use and ensures superb clarity with clear separation. This applies to any demanding environment, whether it's performing in a packed club or engineering in a studio. In fact, the Pioneer HDJ-2000 phones' 50mm driver units and high-flux magnets create outstanding resolution, from bass to treble, and are ideal for studio applications. Yet another neat feature is the capacity for 3,500mW of input, which means distortion is prevented, even at sustained loud volumes. The heavy-duty build of these headphones ensures zero resonance.

Sporting a rugged, yet lightweight magnesium swivel/fold mechanism these Pioneer DJ headphones are robust, comfortable, and compact to transport. Each ear-cup gives excellent insulation and swivels a full 90 degrees using a new i-hinge with auto-return, which presents great flexibility, especially for DJs who prefer the 'on-shoulder' method of monitoring. To improve monitoring, there is also a convenient STEREO/MONO switch. Finally, heat-sensitive, low-rebound urethane-foam (memory-foam) padding with a comfortable protein leather surface cushions the ears and head for a no-fatigue fit. Pioneer HDJ-2000s are not only the perfect headphones for Pioneer DJM mixers but even feature a stylish aluminium outer finish to match the play/cue buttons on Pioneer's CDJ players.

What a let down

I tried to like these.  I tried to think the $255 was worth it.  I almost bought them when they were $350 - that's how bad I wanted them.  They arrived in all their glory, and I unboxed them with such glee.  But my battered 6-year old HDJ1000s sound better.  The sound isolation is better in the 2000s, but these things remind me of the $80 behringers or sennheisers my friend uses for quick home studio work. There is a warmth in the 1000s that I can't seem to find w/the 2000s.  Where is it?  What a let down. Yes, my HDJ1000s broke at the joints and I had to carefully duct tape the joints together.  But they still sound better.  These 2000s get 5 stars for features and durability - they are metal - that's no joke.  But the sound....I'm not impressed.  I'm in the process of packing them up to send back.  I kind of understand why they are on sale now.

I had the HDJ-1000s before these, and the flimsy plastic joint broke.  These are very strong in both design and materials.  Only flaw i can see is the removable cord, the pins are small and i am worried they will bend.  Very comfortable around ear fit.

I have been working in radio, live DJ-ing, and live performance for a while now.  We are constantly getting new headphones at the station for our equipment, and I finally decided I wasnt happy with theirs and purchased these.  Amazing.  You can hear it all and it is like listening to your music for the first time.  Extremely attractive and extremely comfortable.  If you have the cash then I suggest nothing less.  The bass is delicious.
