I don't actually own the K12s -- I own the KW122s -- but I went to check out a venue we've been asked to play last night, and there was a single K12 on top of a K-Sub on each side of the stage, and I was *seriously* impressed at how good the sound was throughout the room. This room was large, certainly more than 100' deep and close to 100' wide, with a ceiling 30'+ high. But the sound was clear, balanced and well dispersed throughout the room, and vocals were clear and easily intelligible even at the back wall (a hallway, actually). I don't regret spending the extra money on the KW122s and KW181, but I can't imagine *anyone* being disappointed by the performance of these cabs. Killer value!
These are ridiculously good for the price. Take it from someone who spent considerably more for the KW122s.

I bought the QSC K12 and Mackie SRM450v2. I placed them side by side and ran tests ranging from simple microphones, MP3 player, keyboard to a complete band sound. You will be disappointed. First of all K12 are NOT 1000W. That?s a marketing lie. I spoke to their support an the speakers have two (2) not bridged 500W amps, so at the best you will get 500W at Clip level power. For my test I had my mixer set to flat and speaker level set to unity (0).No comparison. Mackie?s had a much cleaner an fuller sound.K12 were a bit tighter, but no definition for mids and highs, even though they have a dedicated 500W amp.K12?s look nice and are light, but for the money the sound was bad.

Comments about QSC K12 12" Powered PA Speaker:
I originally purchased the elx 112p from electro voice they sounded allright, but the amp would shut down after a couple of minutes due to heat, the qsc dont have that issue they have a dedicated fan to cool them down. They are more expensive but in terms of sound quality and build they blow the elx out of the water, simply put you get what you pay for. If your debating between the elx and qsc and can spend the extra cash dont hesitate in picking these up. I waited almost a month from the time ingot the elx and had to return them to get qsc. Def worth the wait.pick up a kw 181 sub and your set to go.

Comments about QSC K12 12" Powered PA Speaker:
QSC is a better value than any other product on the market. It is better sounding and will play louder with more clarity than comparably priced units. The QSC support team is fantastic to work with and will answer your questions 24/7. I own 8 of these units and a complete QSC PA and monitor system for a live rock band.

Comments about QSC K12 12" Powered PA Speaker:
the K12 is one of the best product on the market for live sound.
if you're doing events or party - these are alot better than the JBL.
If you're doing DJ - you will probably like the JBL a bit better.
I decided on the QSC over the JBL because of warranty and the more flexible options over the JBL.

Comments about QSC K12 12" Powered PA Speaker:
It's been over a year and more than 100 gigs since I bought my k12's. No technical problems, (never lost an xlr chord from the back of speaker due to vibration) .
The k12's ability to fill any venue has been proven time and again, surprising a few of the "in-house" sound crews of some of the larger venues i've played. However, more than the raw volume,it is the clarity of these speakers that has impressed me most. Because I am using just a mixer (mackie cfx 12 mkii), there are many different instruments and voices that have to be heard. This has been accomplished by using the "vocal boost" and "deep" speaker settings.
Yes, the grill is easily dented and I am being very careful now,but the missing side handle hasn't been a problem after all.

Comments about QSC K12 12" Powered PA Speaker:
I use these for smaller outdoor concerts. I run an M7CL with the stage rack going into 4 K12 tops per side on top of 3 Mackie 1501 subs per side and use k12 as wedges for all the bands. I love this set up. It is one of the best portable systems we've used and there's not much else i would take over it for my specific uses.
Comments about QSC K12 12" Powered PA Speaker:
The only thing I can wish for is locking connectors for te XLR cables and better speaker covers(sold separately) to protect the grills. Other than that this speaker is great!!!
First I want to point out this speaker offers as many connecting options as you might need. 1/4" high impedance lines, mic lines and RCA at the same time. Very powerful 1,000W amps perfectly matched with the cabinet speakers. The sound is amazingly clear at all volumes. Very very loud sound!! Matched with the Ksubs these can shake any room. I change my old Bose 802 set up and Im very happy.
The speaker grill are prone to bend with the minimum hit so you need to treat them carefully and preferably buy the separated cover for each speaker. The handles are very comfortable making it easy to mounts them on any stand. The controls on the back are very clear with good labels and nice volume controls and switches. The sound is simpy sweet at all volumes. I play keyboards with full frequency spectrum and I can hear everything!!!! you can play them nasty loud and still get that cristal clear pro sound to impress the client. These are plastic enclosures......lightweight and effective but not as strong as wood. If you need road toughness you should buy the wood version which is a little more expensive.
No regrets this is a very nice speaker. I think my money was well spent.

really want to love these speakers, but used as wedges on stage, our cables FELL OUT of their combo neutrick jacks due to vibrations. it is a very loose fit. a little extra, and they could have installed locking connectors. silly place to cut costs. tried to get them fixed, and was met with disbelief, even though others complain of the same problem online. cannot replace w/ locking connectors, as they have a different layout (into the pcb).
otherwise, they are nice. just stupid that a low priced part makes this such a problem.
Comments about QSC K12 12" Powered PA Speaker:
replaced 10year old mackie srm450's with a pair of QSC k12s. would have got new mackies but kept hearing bad reviews from DJs about the new mackies. something about how mackies are being made by a different company and just dont sound as good as before. heard great things about the k12s , have had them for a month and am extremely pleased with them. main use : polynesian shows, everything going into the mixer for 3-5 musicians and an emcee. so thats guitars, uke, steel, mikes, and sometimes we'll even mike the toeres (tahitian "log" drums) and pahu (bass drum) if we need to. the k12 handles everything just fine. only one complaint why only one side handle? granted these are light speakers (about the same weight as the mackies) but its awkward lifting them up onto the stands.
Comments about QSC K12 12" Powered PA Speaker:
These things will spoil you.The only thing I can guess to the bad reviews on these is that they reproduce EXACTLY what you put into them. If your using sub-par gear, or low quality music, they will amplify it's flaws. Cheaper speakers mudd your sound, and let you get away with less fidelity source. My favorite thing about these is that they do not distort when you turn them up. You can mount these on poles without any effort.
