The sound quality of this microphone is extremely good for its price, however, the position of the USB input on the microphone itself means that if you bump it too far backwards, you'll break off the USB chip inside the mic. As long as you're careful, it's a good mic, but take care when adjusting it.

Comments about Samson Meteor USB Mic:

I bought this mic for recording my podcast. I use it over skype and even when recording via VOIP, the quality is stunning. I recieve comments from my Co-host on the other side of the conversation. I can whisper from 2 feet away, and the listener could still hear it. If you plan on getting a mic, but have a limited budget: this mic is for you.

First thing you will notice is the weight of the mic. It's not extrememly heavy, but it has a great balance between heavy and lightweight (it doesn't feel like your gonna break it when you pick it up). Everything is sturdy on this mic, even the volume knob. The fact that it has its own tripod is a plus, especially if your working with limited desk space. Overall, I can't find anything wrong with this mic. Great buy for a great price.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
