OVERVIEW

The original Shaker sound.

This is the original Shaker. It broke all the rules 22 years ago, and is still giving harp players a big wall of sound in a smaller, easier-to-cup blues tool. It is designed for harp players seeking huge, fat tone, and strong harmonic content with almost no feedback.

The volume control has 11 micro-detents, or clicks, that tells you where your mic volume is set at, giving you a point of reference and more control of your sound.

All Shaker mics are designed as hybrid units, which means they utilize dynamic low-z elements wired like a guitar in high-z mode. Plug any Shaker directly into any amp, it works awesome, giving you great tone, response and dynamics (The Shaker Sound).

If you use a Shaker mic with an impedance matching transformer into the input of your amp, your Shaker mic becomes super charged, driving your amp into aural overdrive. All Shaker harmonica microphones are really two very different units in one. Direct to amp has the traditional Shaker tone and response. Used with a line-matching transformer and you get high output - hot and driven. Maximum flexibility, it’s your choice.

FEATURES
  • Ergonomic design (Easy to hold and cup)
  • Eleven micro-detent volume control
  • Modified positive contact 1/4 in.guitar type connector (use any guitar cord)
  • Wireless system compatible
  • Microphone body and grille are made of a special high-strength thermo resin combo (Shaker Sono Resin)
  • Handmade in Arkansas, USA

High output with low feedback. Order today.

Having a Sure Green Bullet, Sure 57, a vintage Astatic 200 at my disposal, I now prefer the Shaker Dynamic. It truly seems superior in sound and comfort over the others. The compact size, the volume knob and the fat tone make this study little mic my favorite. Shakey Joe did good on this one. I may have gotten a bad mic with my first order, but the way Shaker folks took care of the situation tells me that it is a very unusual thing to have happen. All's forgiven and Shakey Joe has a new fan in me.
I recently rated this mic as a lemon... it turns out I DID get a lemon, but apparently it is a rare occurance. The Shaker folks immediately sent me a new mic and I am very pleased with this little baby. The size takes a little getting used to, but once you do, it is great to have such a small mic to hold. The volume knob is well situated and very handy. The claims made about limiting feedback are true. I had to really push it to cause feedback with this mic.
The sound out of this tiny thing is great. I have been able to get the deep overdrive tones that I have been attempting to get out of my green bullet. The Shaker Dynamic will be my mic from now on.
The price is right for this mic.

Comments about Shaker Dynamic Handmade Harmonica Mic 1/4-Inch Jack:

I am a 50+ yr harmonica player and recently purchased a Shaker Dynamic mic. I am glad I did. It is probably the only harmonica mic I will need. I have used a SM58 for years but this one both works very well and fits my hands. The cupped sound is really good. I would recommend this mic to any harmonica player, hobbyist or professional.

Solid, Indestructable Mike

Comments about Shaker Dynamic Handmade Harmonica Mic 1/4-Inch Jack:

I've got big hands, but I like being comfortable holding a harmonica mike -- but I still want to get that warm "Les Paul" sound. The Shaker Dynamic does it.It's got very good response, it's small (picture a pill vial with a half golf ball on top), and it is solidly made.If I had to have only one microphone, this would be the one for all-around usefulness

Comments about Shaker Dynamic Handmade Harmonica Mic 1/4-Inch Jack:

I own 5, 1/4" and xlr along with one "mad cat", these little monsters are easy to hold, easy to use, the volume control is sturdy and responsive usually coming over well at 4 clicks, wouldn't have ANY other.

Comments about Shaker Dynamic Handmade Harmonica Mic 1/4-Inch Jack:

Setting up my Home "Music" studio, I wanted a Harmonica Microphone that was not bulky or expensive. I connect and Play thru an Effects Pedal so I can adjust the Sounds from Clean to Dirty and this Mic has delivered with Near Zero Feedback. I also Jam on the Weekends thru a Pignose Amp and I can't wait to Hear the Shaker "Rock the House". Thanks Shakey Joe and Musician's Friend, for bringing Music to the Masses.

Comments about Shaker Dynamic Handmade Harmonica Mic 1/4-Inch Jack:

I am a harp player of 25 years. My wife has been playing for 2 and this was a Christmas gift for her. She had been using my JT-30, but was having trouble controlling feedback and it was a poor match for her amp (a VOX AC4 mini) but a good match for my Champ 600 RI. This mic was a perfect fit for her little Vox. warming the sound up and cutting the feedback to nothing. I have played many mics and owned dozens of vintage (& new) tube amps. If you like the Brown sound, you will love this mic. It is a perfect match for amps w/high gain. Buy this and you want need to switch from an 12ax7 to a lower gain preamp tube. Very small.
