very useful
Comments about Shure A56D Microphone Drum Mount:
I?ve used these live and in the studio. I did notice that they do make the mic buzz a little when mounted on to the drum rim. To solve this I started using the onstage shock mount clips and it solved the problem no more buzz. The buzz is not really noticeable when playing live but if you plan on using these in the studio get the shock mount clips they work. I have never had a problem with them loosening. I have even used these to mount a mic on a guitar cab. They are very high quality they definitely don?t feel cheap.
Comments about Shure A56D Microphone Drum Mount:
First off, let me start by saying I am a big fan of Shure microphones. ALL of my drum mics are Shure. Beta 52, Beta 56, SM57, etc. It felt natural for me to invest in these clamps. By far, these are the worst investment I've ever made. Here are the problems:1) The fastening screws constantly loosen. At least once per gig,I have an L post pop out of the clamp2) The rim clamp also loosens frequently. Recently, the rim clamp loosened during a performance. The entire clamp system popped off the rim, with the Beta 56 mic now hanging from the drum rim. In the meantime, the clamp was gouging a nice little canyon into the side of my 12" hand lacquered tom finish.3) The hexagonal L post doesn't give me flexibility of mic placementTHIS CLAMP SYSTEM NEEEDS A REWORK
Comments about Shure A56D Microphone Drum Mount:
Over my 30 some odd years of drumming and preforming I have yet too see such a well machined and quality "Drum Microphone Clamp" And the Engineering Design is awesome. It stays where you want it and that's anywhere you want it. Also well priced. Get yours soon, they are made to last many lifetimes, and they won't always be at this price.
Comments about Shure A56D Microphone Drum Mount:
I bought a set of these for use in my studio, and 8 out of 10 times, you can hear the vibrations from the drum transfer into the mic, resulting in a slight "buzzing" sound. Which im sure would not be heard in a live situation, but not good for studio use. I would suggest a re-design, with some sort of vibration damping. Maybe rubber coat where it clamps to the drum?
Comments about Shure A56D Microphone Drum Mount:
I was supprised with how well built these things are. You can't tell by the picture but the entire product is made out of a solid metal and the L rod is much more thicker then I had pressumed.
