The Shure Beta 91A is designed for use with kick drums, as well as other traditional low-frequency applications including piano. Featuring an updated microphone capsule, integrated preamplifier, and XLR connection, Beta 91A offers a strong low-frequency response and is specifically tailored for bass frequency applications. The Beta 91A combines superior attack and punch for studio-quality sound, even at extremely high sound pressure levels (SPL).

A 2-position contour switch maximizes attack and clarity depending on application. Select the flat response setting for natural sound in most applications or the "low-mid scoop" setting for a strong low frequency "punch" with plenty of higher frequency attack. Requires phantom power. Comes with zippered pouch.

      So much better than the "All Powerful" Subkick.

      One of the best purchases you could make to mic your drum kit, also would work great with a bass cab! You would just have to buy a special mount.
      Great look, built extremely well, only thing you have to watch is the thin cord that hooks up to the adapter.
      This is at a GREAT value if you want some extra punch to your bass drum, and it is $150 cheaper than the Yamaha Subkick, and it fits inside the bass drum easily ontop of a pillow so you don't have this weird looking drum,that is actually a microphonem outside of your bassdrum.

      Incredible Thump and Punch

      This mic is truly amazing in a kick drum. It has great low end along with a clear, high, punch. I typically use it by itself, but I have paired it with a Beta 52, Audix D6, and AKG D112 and all the results where different, yet amazing. Try running your EQ flat with a 5k boost for nice punch and plenty of low-end. This mic is excellent and I highly suggest it.
