Comments about Shure PGA98H-XLR Gooseneck Instrument Microphone with XLR Cable:

Oddly enough, unlike the Beta version of this mic, the XLR connection was built with such thick metal housing that it won't fit directly into any flat-surface input - stage snake, mixing board, computer interface. They were nice enough to include a separate XLR cable to help you get around this problem...even though they should've just skipped creating the problem at all, ha. But otherwise this mic is solid. I wanted something I could jam into my instrument case and just go. Something I didn't have to worry about taking care of or babying as much as other more valuable mics. This thing feels sturdy.

Microphone works very well - in an unusual use>

Comments about Shure PGA98H-XLR Gooseneck Instrument Microphone with XLR Cable:

I am using the microphone, with a Nano-spot speaker, to amplify a bass recorder, as this early instrument is not loud enough when played with other instruments. Although attaching the microphone to the instrument is bit awkward, it works very well.

Good solid build... Quality of sound mediocre

Comments about Shure PGA98H-XLR Gooseneck Instrument Microphone with XLR Cable:

I tried this mic as well as the audio technica pro 35. The pro 35 was superior on sound quality and ability to pick up.

Comments about Shure PGA98H-XLR Gooseneck Instrument Microphone with XLR Cable:

Great for speech and vocals. Pickup needed for instrument. Don't expect it to do both. I run both thru a pre-amp and powered speaker.
