OVERVIEW

Sound isolating earphones with enhanced bass and a variety of cable configurations for unique sound signatures.

Featuring a single Dynamic MicroDriver, the SE215 delivers detailed sound with enhanced bass. A detachable cable with formable wire enables easy replacement and a secure, comfortable fit on-stage or on-the-go. Sound Isolating sleeves in multiple sizes provide up to 37dB of isolation and a customized fit.

Sound Isolating Design

The role of the included sound isolating sleeves is twofold: blocking ambient noise (iup to 37dB) and ensuring a comfortable customized fit. Because every ear is different, the Fit Kit includes three sizes (S, M, L) of the flex and black foam sleeves. Experiment with the size and style that creates the best fit for you. A good seal is key to optimizing sound isolation and bass response as well as maximizing comfort during extended wear.

SE215's come with a soft-zip compact carrying case to provide you with a convenient, tangle-free solution to store and travel with your earphones.

If you play in a band in tight quarters, these will make all the difference in the world. Get a good headphone amp and plug everyone in. The guys were absolutely amazed when they got 10 dollar earbuds and all of them are going to be getting some of these now. I love mine, its good they wrap around the ears so they dont just hang from your ear holes. The sound cancelling is great, I cant hear a word anyone is saying in the room unless they are miced..even when we arent playing. Im a drummer and its cuts my drums out so that I can easily hear everyone elses instruments without blasting everything. We run through a descent yamaha mixer, with these shures in and the volume control on the headphone amp everyone can set thier own levels so they can hear more or less of what they want.

Guys in the band told me how great these are when used as in ear monitors. I have been using Etymotic e4's. 1st time i used then at a gig I used the same monitor mix as the Etymotics. The Shures had some funky low end octave thing going on. Switched back to my Etymotics and problem solved. The Shures are my backups now and I use them in the studio for rehearsal.

Comments about Shure SE215 Dynamic Microdriver Earphones:

Was looking for a quality IEM and one of my bandmates was using this model. Using IEM helps reduce ambient noise bleed and control sound quality on stage. These are great.

Fit is good to my ears, but as with some other reviewers I find the tips/plugs difficult to change. As long as the tubes don't break I'm fine with that. A tiny bit of vaseline or coco butter on the tube will fix that when I get around to it.

I am in the process of re-introducing myself to the in-ear system after a long time off... was using headphones... These work very well at decreasing extraneous noise as well. I'm happy with the purchase.

Comments about Shure SE215 Dynamic Microdriver Earphones:

I bought some cheap ear buds that stay in my ear and have better sound than these. I expected much more for this price. Im keeping them as backups but wont pay this much for ear buds again. I do use them for live music, so maybe they are better suited for just listing to Ipods and such.

Comments about Shure SE215 Dynamic Microdriver Earphones:

These phones are great. JH In Ear molds hurt when my dreads rip them out, these do not. They are comfortable and sound awesome. The Cables seem to be flimsy, but are easily replacable due to the brilliant design. The idea of the squishy ear piece that expands in your ear, like foam earplugs, is the best noise cancelling, and comfortable design I have ever used. I'm about 20 shows into a 6 day a week tour, and they are holding up great. Very happy with this purchase.

Comments about Shure SE215 Dynamic Microdriver Earphones:

Bought these for stage use. They are a little tricky getting in the ear. It seems you have to almost screw them into your ear. They sound fine and once seated in place, they stay put fine. Because the Right/Left markings are sooooo small, I had to put a piece of colored tape on one to show the difference. Other than that, I like them.

Comments about Shure SE215 Dynamic Microdriver Earphones:

I purchased these phones for use with my church's IEM system and I've had the opportunity to use them half a dozen times while performing now and they have so far sounded very good. I did a full range check using the almighty Google (=P) and everything is well balanced, at least for my ears. To answer a most common question; the bass has a strong and full presence, so I don't supposed you ought to worry about that. One side note that might be beneficial to mention is the break-in period. Not sure why this is (I'm not a techno-geek) but the first two or three days that I used these (recreationally and professionally) they would occasionally cut out and, the best way I can describe it is refresh themselves, and come back in. Drivers issue? Not sure, again: not a techno-geek. But in either case, this problem ceased to persist after the first couple days and have yet to have it reoccur (they are about three weeks old, I will update if this glitch resurfaces). Overall, very good product and quite nice for the price. If I were to give them a "best feature" it would be their durability. The chord is fairly thick and I have several times moved to far from the jack and I got a nice yank on my ears (ouch) with no consequence to the phones themselves, so points there. Again, still relatively new and I will update if anything changes. Definitely a good buy if you are on a budget but something of an audiophile.

I've never done a review before but these earphones are so great I had to put one up for them. I have had the clear 215's for about a year and a half and they are still going strong. I use them as in-ear monitors for drumming in church every week. I also use them for reference and mixing in my home studio. The sound isolation is amazing... When you pop these things in, you become immersed in the music. I am floored by how much sound and clarity that one microdriver can crank out. Great bass response and the highs are crystal clear. Our worship team just went to in-ear monitors across the board and paired these with the Roland M-48 personal mixers. Everyone is happy with them and loves the sound. The only bad thing I can say is that the foam tips are hard to change out but that's not a huge deal once you find the right ones for you. I've had problems with sound going out on the right side, but adjusting the cord usually fixes that issue. I probably need to get a replacement cable, but that's super cheap. And if/when these break/get lost, it's only 100 to replace them. You just can't go wrong. An incredible value for an incredible set of in-ears. Buy them now.

I use the SE215 as an IEM in live sound. It is a good, basic unit. It may not be an audiophile's first choice. The construction is the high point w/ heavy cabling and connector. Sound quality is well balanced especially for a single driver (some reviews point out they're heavy on the bass end but that's not my experience). My only negatives: tips are a little difficult to change, and you need to spend time to "train" the wire to stay well wrapped around the ear. At this price and for the rigors of live performance, not a bad choice.

Comments about Shure SE215 Dynamic Microdriver Earphones:

I got this set to replace a set of Ultimate Ears TripleFi 10s that finally gave up. I primarily use them as in ear monitors (IEMs) for use on stage. I didn't want to drop $$$ on another set of triple driver earphones, and after reading all the good reviews about the Shure 215s, I thought I would give them a try. I have owned single and dual driver Shures in the past and was never totally blown away by them. They were good, but they were nothing special for the money.

The SE215 model though is really nice. It doesn't have quite the separation across the frequency range like my TripleFis did, but for a single dynamic driver it does a VERY good job. They have very nice bass and a good clean high end. Vocals are clear and don't get lost in the mix, and I can clearly distinguish between instruments in the mix.

For the money, I haven't found a set of IEMs that I like better. I would definitely recommend checking them out if you are looking for a good set of earphones that won't break the bank.
