Comments about Shure SE535 Sound Isolating Earphones:
My monitoring evolution had gone from traditional speaker, to headphones, to Bose in-Ears, to Etymotic (spelling?) then finally to THESE. I am a drummer who also triggers full-range samples with a Roland pad, so hearing full-range was/is important. My previous ET series buds did an "okay" job, but there was no punch to the kick drum and the low-low frequencies of the samples suffered. Buying these 535 buds changed all that. Having triple drivers made a HUGE difference. I could really get the punch and definition from my kick drum and really hear the full range of my samples in a live setting. I use mine wired, so I cannot speak for any loss that might happen by going wireless.
Comments about Shure SE535 Sound Isolating Earphones:
I avoided the Shure series based on reviews from the IE40s and Untimate Ears... I have owned the lessor Shures that came with the in-ear systems that we purchased (PSM900s)... but the build quality on both the M-Audio and Unlimate Ear products was poor and the fit is cumbersome... they don't fit in your ear well.. I have spent approximately 2,500.00 on buds for my bands and these are the first Shures I have purchased... well, they isolation was way better and the sound was great... I was very happy with these and then I stepped on them and broke the ear piece off... I decided it was time to fix all my broken earbuds... M-Audio said they could fix them at about 105.00 per "bud"... Ultimate ears said they couldn't replace an ear and I had to purchase a new system and Shure fixed my ears even though I told them I stepped on them... Shure has my business from here on... Everything can break but when I tell the manufacture that I broke them through malice and they say don't worry about it... You have my business until that policy changes...
Comments about Shure SE535 Sound Isolating Earphones:
I just got these and they seem pretty good. Ive only had a chance to listen to mp3's so far. The bass is warm and not thumping which i prefer. I am upgrading from old shure e3's so this is a noticeable step up. at the moment im listening to a track off of Rush's Snakes and Arrows..and it sounds clean and detailed. Noise isolation and fit is better than the e3's. Cant wait to get behind my drums with these. The common problem of the original foam sleeves being stuck to the buds happened to me. The trick is to put them in the freezer for a few minutes so they will twist off. this is real...google it.so far i like them.
