Comments about Shure SM137 Condenser Instrument Microphone:

    Pro sound engineer.

I am building up a small PA for use in my neighborhood association. We use a nearby church for our quarterly meetings and setup using their podium and screen - I bring in the PA and projector, laptop, PA.

Needed a good podium mic and I wanted to use it on a tripod and boom setup. A standard "Podium" style mic doesn't really lend itself to be interfaced with a boom, so I went looking for something that would. Wanted a cardiod condenser mic. This one is perfectly suited for podium use in a move it in and move it out portable setup.

Comments about Shure SM137 Condenser Instrument Microphone:

I got this mic because the switch on my Behringer B-5 broke. . .This mic has a really flat, even, response. . .so much so that it seems to have less gain than the Behringer. . .maybe it's time to crank up my input volume. . .

Comments about Shure SM137 Condenser Instrument Microphone:

My duet partner and I both use SM137's to mic our acoustic instruments (6 & 12 string guitars, mandolin) in practice and performance settings. Thankfully, we have a Phantom Power setting on our mixer which allows simple easy use of the condenser mic's without batteries and no interference with our dynamic vocal mic's. The SM137's provide a true "unplugged" sound of our Martin and Taylor's, which is soooo much better than pickup equipped acoustics. Yes, there are better and more expensive acoustic condenser mic's out there, but for the money these are hard to beat.

        Great condenser mic!

Comments about Shure SM137 Condenser Instrument Microphone:

Bought this mic for my little home studio. Have been using it for a few months now and I am very please with it. Works great for just about any application! I use it for acoustic guitar, drums, vocals and clean guitar. Have tried it on distorted gutiar but it just doesn't capture the crunch, but if you pair it with a good dynamic you get the best of both worlds! Built like a rock (but thats Shure for you. I would highly recommend this mic if you're looking for a good pencil condenser that is fairly versitle.
