Soundcraft

Low-cost high-performance mixer.

The Soundcraft EPM6 is a 6x2 frame size mixer that places emphasizes on quality, audio performance, and an easy to understand, uncluttered control surface. Surface mount technology is used throughout the 6-channel mixer, using close-tolerance components for high accuracy and repeatable settings for EQ and gain controls. The highly transparent GB30 mic preamps--designed by Graham Blyth and used on the larger LX7ii and GB Series consoles--feature high-resolution adjustment over a wide gain range of 55dB, and provide a stunning +22dB headroom through the console. The Soundcraft mixer's true professional 48-volt phantom power caters to condenser microphones of all types. Unique signal monitoring watches for overload in several channel strip locations and illuminates the LED more brightly as the signal approaches peak. 60mm high-quality faders are used. The monitor and headphone outputs work in parallel so that performers can listen on phones while an engineer listens to studio monitors.

    Comments about Soundcraft EPM6 6-Channel Multi-Format Mixer:

This unit seems to be well built and provides clean sound quality. I haven't used it in a live situation yet, as I have mostly been using it for a simple setup at home. As far as a I know, there is nothing wrong with it. It is easy to use (if you have expereince using consoles). But even if you don't, the layout and simplicity of the unit should be easy enough so that it won't take long to figure out.

I mainly use it as a songwriting tool. For me, having the versatility to record via the auxs while multitracking is great.

      Comments about Soundcraft EPM6 6-Channel Multi-Format Mixer:

I wasn't sure what to expect, but I have been happily surprised. I just wanted a small mixer for looping and patching multiple instruments to one source. It has incredible sound quality. Very quiet and warm preamps. There's plenty of headroom available. From the online photos I couldn't really tell the quality level of construction, whether is was plastic or metal. The EPM 6 has a completely solid heavy gauge steel enclosure. No plastic at all. This is one of those few products where I can't figure how they can produce such quality for so little money. If you're looking for something in this size range and don't want effects or a digital interface (which I didn't want to mess up good sound with poor quality bells and whistles), then don't hesitate.

      Top Quality Small Mixing Board

      By Ashyforth

      Comments about Soundcraft EPM6 6-Channel Multi-Format Mixer:

I picked this mixer up around christmas time this past year. Out of the box, this mixer looked immaculate. Its perfect for small recordings (full drum kits, band practices) and offers RCA outs to record in 2 channel stereo. I really liked the high and low end Mid EQ, and the ability to use 2 separate auxiliary controls. The only setback is that there are no individual outs for each channel, however you can run sound out of each channel through the 1/4 in. "Line" by inserting a TRS only to the 1st notch.Overall, solid mixer. And honestly, you can't go wrong with a Soundcraft.

      Quality Budget Mixer

      By Anonymous

      Comments about Soundcraft EPM6 6-Channel Multi-Format Mixer:

Just got the EPM 8 for church and swapped it with my cheapie, a Behringer UB1204FX-Pro. The difference was immediate and surprising. Transparency of the Soundcraft is excellent. It does what a good mixer should do -- it disappears. With the EPM-6 this inexpensive, there's no excuse to get a cheap mixer like a Behringer. This one has a few less features, but the sound quality and build quality are much better. Worth every penny.

      Review

      Comments about Soundcraft EPM6 6-Channel Multi-Format Mixer:

I brought this mixer a couple of days ago.I brought the Soundcraft EPM 6 a few days ago.It is fantastic. The mic pre's a mind blowing . I did a couple of gigs this week and the response form the public has been great. The unit is so silent , absolutly no noise and it also has a mid sweepable eq which I found great with my voice. What I like about the eq's is that they are not harsh sounding or over hyped they have a nice warmth too them plus they are very musical. On the gain there is lots of headroom without any distortion .The thing also sound lovely with my Lexicon MX 200 reverb unit. What attracted me to this is that on the specs it says they use the GB30 mic pre's which are used on the Soundcraft's more expensive mixers.I use to have a Mackie compact DFX 6 and a Phonic powerpod 620 but this soundcraft outshines them by far.

      GREAT!

      Comments about Soundcraft EPM6 6-Channel Multi-Format Mixer:

This is a great little mixer, It has lots of high end features and sounds that normally you would have to pay much more for. The swept mids are a nice extra, I would recommend the 8 ch. version though.
