OVERVIEW

Low-cost high-performance mixer.

The Soundcraft EPM8 is a 8x2 frame size mixer that places emphasizes on quality, audio performance, and an easy to understand, uncluttered control surface. Surface mount technology is used throughout this 8-channel mixer, using close-tolerance components for high accuracy and repeatable settings for EQ and gain controls. The highly transparent GB30 mic preamps--designed by Graham Blyth and used on the larger LX7ii and GB Series consoles--feature high-resolution adjustment over a wide gain range of 55dB, and provide a stunning +22dB headroom through the console. The Soundcraft EPM8's true professional 48-volt phantom power caters to condenser microphones of all types. Unique signal monitoring watches for overload in several channel strip locations and illuminates the LED more brightly as the signal approaches peak. 60mm high-quality faders are used. The monitor and headphone outputs work in parallel so that performers can listen on phones while an engineer listens to studio monitors.

High Quality, Great Value

By Anonymous

Comments about Soundcraft EPM8 8-Channel Multi-format Mixer:

I recently put together a basic sound system for a small church I've been attending lately. We were using my old Behringer UB1204FX temporarily until the Soundcraft EPM 8 came in. (I didn't know equipment very well when I bought the Behringer.) I recently installed the Soundcraft, and even through 15-year-old PA speakers, I could hear the difference. Great transparency. I hadn't realized how muddy the Behringer was until I heard this mixer. The tone was better, and there was higher gain before feedback. It did what any good mixer is supposed to do -- it disappeared. The Soundcraft mixer doesn't have many bells and whistles, but it's a solid performer. Good build quality, and worth every penny. Especially for people on a tight budget, this will give you great sound and build quality for a very reasonable amount of money. Highly recommended.

    Comments about Soundcraft EPM8 8-Channel Multi-format Mixer:

I bought this mixer because all the engineering went into making a good basic mixer. Lay-out/signal flow are classic intuitive mixing style - the way it ought to be.

It doesn't try to do effects or compression - the money goes into better preamps and cleaner circuitry.

The line inputs do require a pretty hot signal.. may have to turn source gain up higher on some devices than other mixers.

    SOUNDCRAFT EFX8 - GREAT!!

    By Jerral

    Comments about Soundcraft EPM8 8-Channel Multi-format Mixer:

I just purchased the Soundcraft EFX8 Mixer and I love it. It is clean and it has power to burn. The simple set up makes it great for live applications where set up time can be short. It is a great straight forward mixer that will give you a sound that is powerful and clean. The effects are the best. I have had no problem with feedback with this mixer. For the money - this is the best mixer I have ever used!

    Comments about Soundcraft EPM8 8-Channel Multi-format Mixer:

I'm using this soundboard primarily for my drums, using all channels for the set it self. The unit is fairly easy to use and is great for someone beginning to use a soundboard for the first time. Although it doesn't have all best functions of a bigger soundboard, it makes a great first impression

      Comments about Soundcraft EPM8 8-Channel Multi-format Mixer:

Works well for playback at wedding receptions and parties. For the price, it works nicely and the compact design makes a karaoke party easier to set up. Works very well as a drum mixer in live situations. The sound quality is good. Not like my Allen and Heath GL 2400 but not even in the same ballpark. Thus, the 4 stars. Glad I purchased this mixer for my smaller gigs.

      Comments about Soundcraft EPM8 8-Channel Multi-format Mixer:

I own an A/V rental company and I use Soundcraft mixers. I own this product and this is a durable, trustworthy machine. It has all of the bells and whistles - the only thing it doesn't have is the built in effects.....but i hook up a 2 ch. effects mixer to it if I need some effects for vocals or something.I use this for conferences.Highly recommend it

        Comments about Soundcraft EPM8 8-Channel Multi-format Mixer:

I've had this PA in my studio now for six years. it's been on the road, used for practice and for recording.
This guy just keeps on going and I have been pleased with it's excellent performance. Easy to work with, professional effects, reliability, price and a small footprint are perfect for any application. I am thinking now about upgrading to the 16 channel model and I'm sure that should I decide to do so, I'm sure it too will be excellent.

I use Channel 1 (Vocal) and Channel 2 (Guitar) on my Bose ToneMatch Engine when I play solo. I use the EPM8 as an auxiliary board for up to three additional vocals/instruments as input to Channel 3 (Vocals) and Channel 4 (Instruments) on the ToneMatch. It works flawlessly, with plenty of control.

            Comments about Soundcraft EPM8 8-Channel Multi-format Mixer:

Bought this Soundcraft EPM8 mixer for the (8) GB30 preamps (same as my Soundcraft GB2R 16 Mixing Board) to input the last 8 channels of my 24 track location recorder using the inserts. Just what I needed. The knobs and sliders are a little light weight, but treated genltly should last. For the price and features, I prefer the Soundcraft mixers to the other brands at similar pricing. Having no power switch is not a problem for my use.
