The Electro-Harmonix Nano Small Stone Phase Shifter is everything you love about the original Small Stone in a smaller, die-cast package! It's an effects pedal that delivers full-bodied, three dimensional phasing to add a special swirl to every musical style. Blues boys and babes dig its rapidly rotating speaker effect while Country players use it to add seasoning to their chicken' pickin'. Metal-heads and Industrialists dig the Stone's jet plane woosh. No matter what your musical pleasure, the Nano Small Stone Phase Shifter is guaranteed to increase it!

The rate control adjusts the speed of the phasing sweep (clockwise rotation for a faster rate). Snapping the color switch up carves into the frequency spectrum, hollowing out the sound. Fundamentals and harmonics glide in and out for an extremely pronounced shifting effect. Return the color switch to the down position and the fullness returns. In the non-color position, with the sweep speed at minimum, the effect is not as strong and if the slowest sweep is desired the color switch should be in the up position.

Electro-Harmonix Nano Small Stone Phase Shifter Guitar Effects Pedal Features:

  • Highly adjustable phase shift effect
  • Rate control
  • Color switch
  • Die cast casing with rounded corners
  • Small size conserves pedalboard space

While the full sized Small Stone is wicked famous, it is also notorious in the bass community for its annoying volume drop. Fortunately this is not the case with its little brother. Great tracking on bass, simple to use, very little volume drop, solid as a brick, takes up no almost space, and for the price it's the best phaser you can get for bass guitar, even giving the infamous MXR Phase-100 a run for its money!

I used this in my local music store on advice from an employee. It sounded very cool through my bass. I didn't notice too much of a volume drop. It's also nice and small and built like a tank.

I purchased this pedal to replace the crazy phase of the MXR 90 which was too much for my sound. I liked the Small Stone's sublte phase with the toggle switch in the down position that offers nice sweeps while still maintaining some of your tone (I felt the MXR Phase 90 just would take over everything when turned on). With the switch up, things get more interesting with a wider and more muscular phase. Impressive. The only problem is volume. I've found that there is a considerable loss of signal volume when this pedal is engaged which is very frustrating in live situations especially for lead work. I'm looking into other options.

This pedal is cool. It's small simple and adds a great tonal variance to the sound. It will drive a whole pedal board loaded with distortion and OD. I like it because it adds some unpredictable dynamics to my sound. I run use it as a subtle effect just for the slight motion it adds. It's silent, small, simple and sounds great. There are not a lot of parameters to mess with so if you need a very specific phase value you won't like it.
