Comments about Sterling Audio SP50/30 Studio Condenser Microphone Pack:

This mic is great for new home studios. It's cheap, and you get 2 mics for the price of one. You can make any mic sound good if you work long enough with it. It's better to know one mic very well and get a great sound from it, than to have lots of mics that you don't know how to use. It really doesn't matter what mic you pick, but learn how to make that one mic sound good and then it doesn't matter the brand. I chose these mics as my first mics because of the price. I can make them sound professional because I've spent a lot of time with them. Now make a decision on what mic you want to buy, buy it, then go make music!

Comments about Sterling Audio SP50/30 Studio Condenser Microphone Pack:

The old saying "You get what you pay for" is exactly true in this case. If budget is a serious concern then you do what you can with what you're able to get. But, if you're looking for some mics that you'll be keeping around for awhile go ahead and pass on this one. The 30 does not work well on acoustics. It's better than using an SM57 or something on your acoustic, but only just. The 50 isn't HORRIBLE, but it is very noisy and picks up even more background noise, so you'll end up with this constant hiss.

Overall, if you're just writing scratch tracks for songwriting purposes then sound quality isn't the biggest deal. You just need something to capture the audio in a somewhat accurate fashion. If you're wanting to make stuff to show off with then pass.

Bottom Line: If this is all you can afford it's better than not having mics at all. If you can manage to get something a little better and cleaner than I would do that. You'll be happier in the long run and much less frustrated.

Comments about Sterling Audio SP50/30 Studio Condenser Microphone Pack:

I recently had a Rock Band recording in my studio and was looking for a clear and yet warm sound for the vocals. So I tried The Audio Tech AT, Sennheiser 8series and Sterling. I chose the Sterling Mic. That's saying something! Prices don't Matter Mics do. A C I Muzik Productions Studio.

Comments about Sterling Audio SP50/30 Studio Condenser Microphone Pack:

Bought this on sale for [$], set is well worth [$],However the preamp settings have to be raised +15db to get the sameDb as more expensive mic's that are recording with preamp on Absolute zero setting, making this mic more prone to distort,If you are a experienced musician, you can adjust preamp settingsAccordingly, if your not experienced and your looking to buy at theCurrent nonsale price, I recommend adding a few $ and purchasing aHotter mic with more headroom!

Comments about Sterling Audio SP50/30 Studio Condenser Microphone Pack:

The SP50/30 Microphone pac is one of the best values I have found. I bought it as a "stupid deal of the day" and could not believe the quality received for the price paid. I did not have phantom power available but the price was low enough to justify the purchase of individual power units. They both perform very well and I feel fortunate to have had the purchase opportunity.

Great place to start. Won't handle real low bass with it's 3/4 inch pickups. Nice sound.
