Comments about Harry Hartmann Fiberreed Baritone Saxophone Hemp Reed:
I play bari in a big band and wanted a clearer, stronger, more centered tone in the mid- and upper-range of the horn. I got that with this reed. It made the biggest difference in tone of anything I've tried -- mouthpiece, cane v synthetic reed, ligature, etc. The only down side is the first time I played it, I only lasted about four songs into the set and had to make a quick change to my old standby (2-3/4 Legere). The next time I made it one set before the change; and, at the last gig I played it for the whole 2-1/2 hours. I can feel it in the embouchure muscles a bit, but it plays strong and does what I wanted.
