I have to say that I thoroughly enjoy playing on Hite Mouthpieces. After owning one for my alto and one for my Tenor I contemplated buying one for bari. Mr. Hite had passed away and I was a little reluctant to risk buying his mouthpieces fearing the quality would be lacking under new ownership. Well it is not. JJ Babbitt has maintain the excellence that Jeanne and David brought to mouthpiece making and has delivered another great piece to my arsonal. If you have never tried a Hite mpc, you should. They are flexible clean and powerful with an ability to play soft and blend in a section to robust dynamics needed to power up for solo work. Although I play mainly in Concert band and quartet, I think the Hite 129 can be a great crossover piece. Not bright enough to dominate as a true jazz piece but flexible in dynamics and power to satisfy classical and mixed esemble requirements. The Hites understated site description is accurate but I would add great value to them too. These proffessional mpcs are so well priced and can do so much whith proper control that I highly recommend them with no reservations. Rich clear voice with exceptional volume dynamics. What more could you want coupled with the price!
