Comments about Rovner Metal Platinum Ligature:
This ligature is very impressive, when I opened up the box, I was very pleased at the overall appearance of the ligature. Rovner makes some of the best quality ligatures on the market and the platinum is not an exception.
After getting a good look at it, I slapped it on my C* with a vandoren 3, and my selmer SA80 Series II, and it amazed me how much it opened up my sound, and made the horn blow without any effort at all.
This ligature also makes it a lot easier to play quieter, which is the bane of almost every tenor saxophonist. It makes low notes easier to hit at these dynamics, and makes it easier to sing in altissimo and upper register.
So, I'd say its definitely worth the money, much cheaper than those over-rated silverstein ligatures, and this is definitely a ligature that's benefits outweigh the hype that it advertises. Rovner only makes quality products, and this is by far their best ligature.
