Comments about Vandoren Alto Sax V16 Reeds:
This reed is very well balanced. Overall, unleashes a lot of your personal style out of your horn. I use size 2.5 mainly on jazz and combo type situations on my Meyer 6M, but also use size 3 on my Yamaha 5C mpc in concert band. If i had to pick one reed for the rest of my life, no doubt I'd pick these!

Vandoren V16 Alto Sax Reeds 3.0 is the best product on the market for experienced Sax players. This is the reed that most High School Music Directors prefer students to use. Excellent quality and sound is amazing. I only buy from MusiciansFriend.com! Ships the same day and usually receive it within 2-3 days. Great product and awesome service!!!!! Can't beat the price!!

Vandoreen Alto Sax reeds V16.
I played from jr high through college using Vandoreen reeds and I swear by them. Now my kids are in band in jr high and hs and I wont by anything else for them.
Comments about Vandoren Alto Sax V16 Reeds:
I have bought these reeds for my daughter for the past 3 years. A full box will last her 11 months usually. She plays in marching band, concert band, jazz band, and all competitions in our area so she really puts these reeds to work. She did use Rico but she tells me the Vandoren is the best and she wants nothing else.
Comments about Vandoren Alto Sax V16 Reeds:
These reeds are really a do-all reed. It's great for jazz (that's what they were designed for), and for the right players, it's also good for symphonic, and classical applications. Tonguing attacks are a lot stronger than with the traditional vandoren reeds, and these respond like French-filed reeds. My only complaint is that only about 4 of the ten in the box were really exceptional reeds. The rest has some weird knotting under the surface of the wood, right along the vamp and heart, causing some odd frequencies to be emphasized, and occasional unwanted harmonic overtones. There isn't really anything advanced about these reeds, although intonation is excellent. Caution: you lose some control over individual notes and tricky nuances, and some things, like altissimo, are close to impossible with these reeds. What you should really do I try every reed you can; cane, synthetic, plastic covered, different cuts/brands/strengths. THEN you'll know what you like.
Comments about Vandoren Alto Sax V16 Reeds:
These reeds are great for jazz, and when paired with the right horn and mouthpiece they can be great for any style of playing. I play in my school's big band and wind ensemble and use theese reeds for both. They can offer a fantastic sounds for a lead alto player that cuts through the band without having too much of a bite, and they can also blend well with a concert group. For reference, I play a Mark VI alto, avintage Brilhart Ebolin mouthpiece, and these reeds strength 3. I highly recommend the V16's, especially for jazz players.
