      Got these for my Freshman HS son for the first time. He tells me he notices a positive difference - ease of play & smoother sound. He's normally used the blue box; but we decided to try this red box for a change; and he likes them very well. He would recommend them.

          Comments about Vandoren Java Red Alto Saxophone Reeds:

          These are by far the best reeds that I have found that don't cost more than 50 dollars a box. They really brighten up the tone and are pretty durable. The only downside is that they are less frequently cut right than say a Rico, but a good Vandoren Java cut reed is better than any Rico, in my opinion.

          Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
