My daughter is in a 5th grade Band class and her first year of playing the clarinet. She has used these reeds all school year. I purchased two boxes of ten this school year and she will not have used all of them by the last day of school. Although we don't have anything to compare them to, she likes these reeds and they seem to last her a long time. She did have one reed that was chipped out of the package.

VanDoren reeds are taken from the wrong part of the cane shaft. I've used these reeds before, and pieces literally fell off of the reed while I was playing. I was disgusted at the quality, and was really unhappy that I spent $ for a reed that lasted less than a week.

you'll definately notice the difference between a Vandoren and (ex. Rico) . Vandoren's last longer and has a great specialty in dynamics. i reccomend to any and every clarinet player !
